After reading all the hype "How about Julian Draxler only 19, plays for FC Schalke"  Only one small problem he signed a new contract this year extending it till 2018, but i think we could get him for under £7million.

His wiki page says " sources close to the player say he is close to joining Aston villa"

Not sure what's worse twatter or wiki ....

both as bad, you can make changes on Wiki and twatter is just Twatter.

I agree its rediculous spending anywhere near 8.5 mill on that player but these are the kind of fees that will be thrown around this summer

You don't just get a 80mill pound cheque you know.

Think it's paid out over a four maybe five year period and it's closer to 65million for the bottom end of the table.

years will he play football at Real Madrid. Will Benteke leave Villa for newer pastures, I don't think he will or would want too at the present time.

In regards to his holiday, he's probably been on holiday for about 2 weeks. He will report back for training on Saturday along with anybody else who was on international duty so I guess we'll begin to hear a bit more after that.

I totally agree with you on that, If we hear anything at all it will be just before we Fly out to Germany on Sunday 7th, Will Benteke be on the plane?

I think you'll find that the team fly out this weekend to Germany, So i guess we will find out within the next few days but if he does want to leave then i don't think he will be traveling along to Germany with the rest of the squad.

I prefer Beck's but that's German! Belgian/French beer is a bit sweet for me, where as German beer is just pure bitter (Before anyone says it, it's got nothing to do with the WWI or WWII) Just me and a love for good honest beer. Shop wisely and you'll get a good deal at the Aldi, £1.59 for 660ml bottles (No i dont work there, just a good price for a great beer).

Berbatov would be like another Bent IMO; Lazy!

While Gareth Barry is a good player and will do a good job for any number of premier clubs, I don't think Villa is one of them.

Yes he does play in the position we need but, his lack of pace has become more noticeable lately and while playing in the City team, he is surrounded by players who can cover him, at Villa he wouldn't be.

We need some one with that bit more mobility I'm afraid.

I hear the Goverment are offering a grant for people with Mobility problems maybe David Cameron will pay his wages and give him a Disable badge to stick on his forehead.

Let's not forget we have signed 5 foreign players so far, surely we have to add to the English talent unless he has hope's for Gardner or Albrighton stepping up a gear now their fit. IMO we wont see a new signing for a while yet. Pre-season starts Monday and i can't wait to see how they fair in Germany, maybe this will be key to what he will or will not bring in before the window closes.

Why are most people on here thinking he will go? Lambert is the puppet master here, we get a good price and Lerner might have a say otherwise he plays for Villa or throws his dummy and looses all hope of playing in the world cup 2014, Lambert has proven that he will not sit back and be dictated to, Benteke has morals and his father has not brought up a spoilt brat. IMO he will be here this season.

Logged onto AVTV to watch his interview and I've been cut off again. Bah! They did this last year, the few months you really want to watch the videos on there and they stop the free subscription to season ticket holders.

But if that's my biggest complaint about Villa this year, then I...can't...complain...

it would be better to buy players first, sell after, otherwise we could miss out on our main targets

We have brought in 4 new players, if we buy now and find ourselfs stuck with Bent, Given, Ireland, Bannan and a few others that don't fit in with Lamberts plans we could be stuck paying out big wages for bench warmers. Sell them first and then play with the money to get a few more players on resonable wages.

Can't be the last, we still need a goalkeeper and a right back at the very least, if all goes to plan and we shift the likes of Ireland,Given,Bent and a few others, them we could well see another 4 maybe 5 new players coming in. After this week Lambert will take his holiday till 1st July and then after shifting the dross we could be in for another exciting week before the friendly's start.

That's the third season in a row that we get away fixture to start and end the season, theres just no justice in the world.

Tough start to the season, but on the bright side we might all enjoy Christmas this year.

 

I think it's a case of 'it's not what you say, it's the way that you say it'.

 

You're entitled to your opinion, but when your agenda seems to be 'put down the club first, then make a point', people get annoyed. That's how I see it anyway. There's plenty enough to be negative about, without being negative about the positives

 

 

So by that you see it as a positive that we have no clue as to what the hell is going on with regards to Benteke?

 

Do you not think if we were really going places quickly as a club he would be itching to sign a new contract?

 

NO! why would he and Villa not wait it out, £30M for a player that cost £7M sounds a good deal to me and besides that as much as i admire Benteke "He is his own man and as young and stupid you may think he is, i'm sure his father will sort that out."
