germany also has an outrage over their "inclusive" away kit

adidas Germany 24 Away Jersey - Pink | adidas Deutschland

to be fair the outrage there should be that the kit is shite

i dont think its being discussed in the reichstag because ze germans aren't that **** daft but the old white men of days gone by are out in full force - Hoeness doesn't like it, I'm shocked

What is that kit supposed to represent?

Not the LBGT rainbow but the Telegraph was suggesting it resembles the trans and lesbian flags.

Looks nothing like either. Closest thing it resembles is the bisexual flag.

If Nike have reiterated that it's nothing to do with any of that, but to celebrate the last and only England team to win anything, I'm perplexed as to why the outrage doesn't stop there. Unless the implication is they're lying and are secretly trying to turn everyone gay?

In which case, nobody would have even known about the resemblance unless they made such a big fuss about it in the first place. Can't say most people are super well versed in the various pride flags. People would have heard "1966 training kit" and said oh okay and kept it moving. Because it's a bloody football shirt, and there are countless more important things in life to spend calories on.

  3. If it was really about changing the flag they wouldn't be harping about "woke" this and "woke" that. The reason they are is because they actually think it's the bisexual pride flag 😂

  4. I'm dying, the whole time I thought the outrage was because it was meant as a nod to the LGBTQ flag (still dumb but it at least makes sense for them to be mad about), but it turns out it's not even that? It's a callback to an old training kit  :crylaugh:

What are these people even mad about anymore? Grown men being outraged over a flag. I thought that was a uniquely American malaise. Jfc.

  5. I'd love for him to do it obviously, but it's quite crazy that Ollie Watkins could become our all time leading scorer in the PL era after just 4 1/2 seasons and cracking the 15 goal barrier just once. We've either been really shit or we haven't been able to retain the great strikers we've had. *checks notes* It's both actually.

Got my N64 and Gamecube looking pretty sharp.

Did a shell swap, added a PicoBoot chip for SD card use, and popped some lights in the Cube.

Switched out the N64 logo for the prototype 'Ultra 64' logo too.

Definitely will be time to move him on in the summer if we can avoid a PSR loss and invest in a high potential young right footed centre back. We’ll then have Ty, Pau, Konsa, new CB.

I'd be bricking it going into the season with just that. We'd have been screwed this season without Lenglet, and he wouldn't even be on this shortlist (he's 5th).

  8. We're a better team with him in it but my God is he not one of the most frustrating players to watch when he's on the ball. I always just feel anxious.

Throw in our games against Lille and possibly semi finals and this is going to be some job for Unai.

Unless we completely shit the bed before April starts I'm still not concerned about United, if we can just get motoring again we'll be more than fine. 2024 has been a bit up and down trying to gather momentum.

Throw in away to Chelsea in the middle there for Spurs. We have very similar games. Both play Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and City, both play West Ham away, etc. This will definitely go down to the wire you'd imagine.

Glad to have seen it in theatres. Absolute spectacle.

I kind of see what people might mean about the characters being soulless and it is that sort of hybrid for book readers and film goers. Having read the first two books, I could connect the dots, but my friend who watched it was a little lost on some of the side characters. Feyd-Rautha/Lady Fenring - had no recollection of Mohiam.

An absolute must see in IMAX though. The worm riding scene was thunderous and earned a cringe crowd applause but I could see why.

The worm scene in IMAX was probably the first time where I felt like I was in a movie. I wasn't just hearing the sound, but it was pulsating throughout my body. I've been to 4DX movies less immersive.

  11. Hope he can put it right this week. Win against West Ham and Ajax and we're still chugging along nicely. Spurs' game in hand is against Chelsea lest we forget, so it's not a foregone conclusion. We're still very much in the driving seat of our own destiny.

It’s difficult for me to look back and not project how we now know the season panned out onto that I thought at the time. I suppose I could look what I posted at the time, but my belief is I was trying to convince myself we were doing alright.

I remember being second for a short time but thinking that this novelty probably won’t last.

I often wonder why I (infrequently) return to this thread. On the one hand when it comes to Bruce I’m a little petty and having a little dig at his expense I find mildly amusing. Although he’s out of work, my suspicion is he’s still fairly well insulated and protected by the old boys club, if he was given the something like the Palace job, the usual suspects would be on hand to fight his battles.

But I think the main reason is that 17/18 was a rather important season in our recent history. Christ knows what would have happened if they actually had their shit together (that’s everyone, Bruce playing his part but not the biggest part in the wider debacle).

I remember being incensed after the QPR and Bolton losses. We just threw it. Bolton were absolute crap that year, and while the crazy conditions didn't help that day we should have saw them off. QPR just completely played us off the park and a young Eberechi Eze completely ran the show that day. At VP. Felt like I was back in the Lambert days. That's when I knew I was done with Bruce. We were going nowhere with him, it was so obvious.

I remember this board being infuriating because there were people who were just happy to be in the top 6 of the Championship and not make it out of the league. Part of it was because Bruce was this old school "no nonsense" manager that still seemed to carry some weight in those days. I'm glad Dean Smith and now Unai Emery have completely shattered that myth and those dinosaurs seem to largely be going extinct. Hopefully next on the chopping block, Sean Dyche.

Just back from part 2 and thought it was far superior to Part 1 but probably down in part, to the plotline meticulously laid out in the first film (which I rewatched last night)

I didn't realise how good Timothy Chamoisleather was as he absolutely bossed the role of Paul Artreidis. I didn't expect such a commanding performance as good as that.

The whole film looked and sounded fantastic and luckily had some great actors more than doing their bit (Bardem, Ferguson and Austin Butler particularly)

    Would definitely watch again.

It was left very open - are there plans for more Dune adaptations?

His performance definitely surprised me. I didn't think he had it in him. Utterly convincing performance as Paul.

Apparently he's already in the midst of writing Dune Messiah, and the higher ups are waiting on seeing how this one does financially before green lighting.

Re-watched the first one (for the third time) last night in preparation for seeing Part 2 this week.

    It's still amazing

I did the same before Part 2, and it was amazing but Part 2 completely blew it out of the water (there's also the matter of viewing it on my modest home setup compared to IMAX). So much happens that Part 1 feels like a prologue in comparison, and not the entire first half of the story.

Wasn't the original plan 12 games? 8 is still far too many. In another 5 years it will go up to 10 no doubt.

Isn't 8 just 2 extra games to what it currently is? Plus you face 8 different teams and not the same 3 teams twice. Pros and cons to that as it means we likely won't play at the Bernabeus and Camp Nous until we get to Real and Barca levels, but it also means a nice variety of grounds to visit

Literally looks like a little kid with an old man's head 😂

It's funny because Monchi looks to be the same height but has adult proportions. It's a very weird picture.

The Carbone V Leeds hattrick is clearly the standout but there was a Benteke hattrick against QPR in a 3-3 where he just carried us. I'd put that one above his Sunderland one, probably because he made a the goals himself and it earned us a point.

He really was a fantastic player.

He even scored a free kick and we didn't even know he could do that.
