just to play devil's advocate, they might not need to beat City, a draw "might" give them some hope.

Current goal difference is Villa +20 and Spurs +11.

If Villa do lose both games, say 3-1 to Liverpool and say....2-0 to Palace, thats -4 goals which puts us on +16.

If Spurs draw with City, then beat Burnley and Sheff Utd 4-1, thats +6 goals, which puts them on +17 goals.

So they would get 4th on goal difference.

Im not saying it likely or not, im just saying there are scenarios where a draw against City and wins versus Sheff/Burnley might be enough, if we dont do our part.

On another note, im also assuming that if we had the same GD as spurs, wouldnt they finish ahead of us? (due to the 3 points each in the head to heads, but the GD is 5-2 in their favour over the two games?, not sure thats how it works when you get down to that level if splitting the atom though.

As i say, im not saying any of that will happen, im just saying that Spurs not winning vs City doesnt mathematically guarantee we are 4th.

Id do the lottery this week aswell chap.😂

  2. Reading through the last pages seems all about if we don't win another game before the end of the season. I think if we need to, we would beat Palace. We would just throw everything at them, not needing to conserve ourselves for another game, there season will already be over, so they won't wanna go in hard and risk injuries, holidays will already be booked.

It won't take that though, as I just cannot see Tottenham beating City. I don't think they are even bothered about 4th place, listening to. 'big Ange', as he wants to keep his job, an with CL next season, he will be seriously under pressure. Don't lose sight of Burnley being the one to watch for Tottenham though, last chance saloon for them, they will be fighting for there status, an I wouldn't fancy that game at the moment.

What has Street done for Villa? I heard a lot of hot air from him, and more hot air about what he'd do if re elected, but I can't recall any action.

Heard Street needed Villa to invest in the local areas just to give him a higher profile in the Muslim communities.

Why do people think Spurs will get a draw v City? Spurs defence is like a sieve , and City have won the last 6 games, who will most likely need to continue winning or Arsenal will win the league.

Not sure what the flap is. They won't beat City not a chance. Did you see them play Saturday, they are now in top gear, even giving players (Haaland) a rest. I doubt Tottenham will even walk through Burnley, then City 2 days later, this is seriously what you call bed wetting. It's done lads get yourself a beer. 🥳

We have some unbelievable critical fans, online at least.

Been a magical season, whatever happens.

I keep hearing this, but it don't work like that for me. To give up 4th now would be devastating, irrelevant of the season we have had.

Last season was pretty exciting? Secured ECL on the final day against Brighton.

Let's hope Brighton ain't lost us 4th this season.

In all seriousness, Spurs need to beat City, an as has already been said, I doubt that is happening, especially 2 days after playing Burnley, an they can even give Tottenham a game I've no doubt.

Spurs should still likely beat Burnley and Sheffield United, so that's six points and if they somehow get something against City then who knows? It's far from over, goal difference could still play a role.

They play city 2 days after Burnley. It ain't happening chap. 4th is ours.

No club has ever won 4 in a row in England, and something about the idea of an oil club being the first one just plain bothers me.

But it's cheating so don't really count in reality.

Liverpool should have buried Spurs further in goal difference to give us a little more comfort, but I really don't see Spurs overturning the difference.

So, realistically, we need them to drop just 2 points and we're set. A City-Spurs draw would be ideal...no title for City, we make the the CL.

Of course, we could take care of business next weekend ourselves if we still have 11 fit players at the club by then.

No one wants Arteta to win the title mate. Just let Man City win it, it's as good as a fake win anyway.

An Tottenham ain't beating City anyway, not a chance.

They lost 4-0 to Newcastle weeks ago, they're nothing to do with it. They need at least a point from City to have any chance of finishing above us

I reckon they'll struggle with Burnley to be fair.

Goal difference is currently 10 so if Spurs get a draw with City they'd need to turn those ten around, we're six ahead on goal scored too.

So if they get a point from City in a 1-1 and win the other two games 3-0 they'll be ahead on goals scored and three behind on goal difference - which means we could lose the last two 1-0 and still be ahead.

Another couple of Liverpool goals could make all that seem a lot simpler.

They ain't beating or drawing City on this form. It's as good as done I'd say.

At least spurs are losing too. Just one win from our remaining games please.  Can see spurs possibly getting 2 wins but looking at both teams current form who knows anymore!

They ain't beating City  may even struggle with Burnley.

I'd crack open the beers already.
