I kinda hope that the GAIS derby will not be competitive due to IFK one day getting their act together but yeah :D

I keep trying to pick sides here, but I can’t. I went to GAIS this summer and even bought a scarf, but I know good people on both sides and I just can’t bring myself to hate IFK like you’re supposed to if you’re GAIS 😂

I assume he was just earning a bit more money . . . I don't know how these jobs work, but I guess I assume he's self-employed/a contractor, and so can do a bit of work here or there wherever he can get it?

PS I agree he seems like a nice guy; don't really understand why he provokes such strong emotions. Maybe it's because he's 'the sound of the Lerner-Lambert era' for some people.

I don’t have anything against him at all. He’s just hilariously Partridge-y in just about everything he does, which is endearing more than anything.

Yeah, they are having a fantastic season. Really hope ot's them and not Utsiktens that go up (even thou both are Gothenburg and both are fairy tale stories) because with Västerås going up we can't really have yet another ******* team playing on plastic door mats in the league. It's a joke. Shame that Örgryte are a lost cause and Frölunda have given up and become a feeder club/youth development club for IFK. At least Häcken are good but I miss the days when we had 3-4 Gothenburg clubs in the top flight and at least 2 of them were competitive.

I lived i Gothenburg back in the early 2000's and went to the Örgryte derbies when it used to be around 40.000 each game. Was fantastic even thou the fans and atmospherics are actually miles better these days.

Yeah, Utsiktens are a bit pointless (I say that with nothing but respect for their achievements) and Häcken are a bit meh, so a competitive IFK and GAIS derby would be fantastic.

You would be moaning if that was given against us. So your answer if it cant  confirm whether its in or out is to give goal anyway?

Should not have been given and thats last thing ill say about it

Reminds me of a manager (Henning Berg of Blackburn and Man Utd fame) in Norway way back when who was livid the ref didn’t give his side a pen for what he thought was a blatant handball in the area.

Upon being presented with video of the incident in his post-game interview, showing that there had clearly never been any handball, he stuck to his guns replying «yeah, but there’s no way the ref could have seen that it wasn’t handball».

Club is an absolute dumpster fire but the fans have been amazing this season. Record attendances despite the club very much looking to be relegated.

Brilliant. Very much reminds me of another club that I know very well.

Hope IFK stay up with GAIS looking set for promotion. Will be a cracking derby and good for football in GBG.

i was thinking Torres, Mings, Digne - it'd never really occurred to me that any of the front lot are.

Thinking through them - Traore's goal against Leicester, Diaby's goal last week, McGinn's volley, Bailey's goal at the weekend, Duran's goal against Palace, Kellyman and Zaniolo I had to check - and you're right - there's loads of em.

    As a leftie myself, I'm appalled I hadn't noticed how many we'd collected - it's almost sinister.

    Bravo! 👏

I wonder if Steve will busy himself picking fights with people who criticise his boy online now.

    Requires basic digital skills, unfortunately.

Brucie’s a typewriter kind of guy.

The whole concept of nation states is the single worst idea that humans have ever had.

This is interesting. I used to agree with it, but I’m not sure anymore. Part of me thinks nation states are necessary, and pretty much the ideal size and contains the right level of social trust for organising a functioning welfare state. On the other hand, there are obvious issues the nation state either creates or can’t solve.

I was there. In the away end. The amount of pyro used for this game was delicious, even if it did cost me a good pair of gloves 😂

    (no comments on the game)

The in-laws just moved to Davis, but we could  certainly meet up in the RRV for some wine tasting shenanigans!

I think you might have been thinking of job in Bergen Norway. They wanted me to go over for a trial but I was booked out for 6 months and they wanted the position filled. After reading it was the "rain capital" of Europe (compared to Denver which has 300 days of sunshine a year) it put me off slightly!

Good on you. Bergen is nothing but rain, dysfunctional politics and Norway’s most famous paedophile 😬
