Glad to hear you're getting back to it and making progress.

Not seen the Bruce Lee stuff, assuming it's very calisthenics based, maybe high volume and low rest times?

Yep, pretty much. 8 different sets of 10 reps each, then repeat it all.

    Thanks!

    Lost 4kgs 🤦‍♂️

I’ve put at least half back on, thank god.

Anyone here ever tried any of the so-called Bruce Lee workout variants you can find online? I’ve done it a couple of times lately, and I don’t know how effective it is yet, but f*** me it’s brutal!

Did my first 10k in two years a couple of weeks ago and struggled badly on my way to finishing it in 58 mins. Really need to step up.

Got it down to 55:30 today. Progress, at least.

  4. Couldn’t be bothered checking for existing threads.

The missus and I have booked flights to Lisbon for a week in July, and we’re looking for where to stay. The plan is to have two days in Lisbon, and five days in some small coastal town. Finding a place in Lisbon should be no problem, but I’m looking for a nice little town along the coast within an hour from Lisbon (either direction is fine.) Ideally somewhere not too touristy, nice sandy beaches, decent food. Ericeira has come up as an alternative, but it’s nice to have some options before we decide anything.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Injury free now, so can resume full traning. Haven’t done any pull lifts at all for months, and have done very little overall too. I have to force myself back into a proper routine now, as I felt like a f***ing newbie in the gym yesterday.

  6. Lots of things, I’m sure.

Golf. I used to be pretty good and would watch a fair bit on telly.

Nordic events. I still like to go cross country skiing when I can, but used to watch it religiously every weekend as well. Haven’t watched a single race this season.

International football. Haven’t watched a full Norway game in ages, I’m just not interested. Will be watching the Euros, though, even if Qatar caused significant harm to my interest in the big tournaments too.

Films, to an extent. I was never the biggest film buff in the first place, but would always watch at least a couple of films a week at home. These days I might go to cinema twice a year tops, and at home I only watch Disney Pixar stuff with my son.

We had a good 10 cm overnight (KW.gif) here in Oslo, too. This word removed of a winter has lasted about four years now, f***ing sick of it.

Just seen a post on facebook that’s beats that. A capital and full stop after each word

My dear late granddad couldn’t work out where the space button was on his old mobile, so he’d use + between each word of a text instead. Those texts read better than that FB post.

  9. The struggle continues. 10 professional clubs are now officially, by membership vote, against VAR and their representatives are instructed to work for the discontinuation of VAR in Norwegian football. A year ago that number was 2. More importantly, those 10 clubs include all the «giants» of Norwegian football (in terms of membership): Rosenborg, Brann, Lillestrøm and Vålerenga. Well supported household clubs like Start, Bodø/Glimt and Strømsgodset and others too. Tonight there was a televised primetime debate on national television to discuss VAR. Our representatives argued our case very well. This is winnable.

4kg of muscle mass is a lot to lose in only a few months, there's probably some water/fat in there too. I'm assuming that you're not completely inactive and you're still up and about?

The muscle should come back pretty quickly when you start lifting again. If it's just one hand with damaged fingers, try jumping on machines and just using the good hand.

A few tips and journals are linked in the below if anyone is interested:

    https://jeffnippard.com/blogs/news/how-fast-do-you-lose-muscle-when-you-stop-working-out-how-to-avoid-it

"You can prevent muscle loss through training (even minimal bodyweight workouts) and diet (eating at maintenance calories and consuming sufficient protein)"

Yeah, I’ll qualify it a little bit and say it’s probably a bit of water weight too as I’ve not been taking my creatine while I’ve been away from the gym.

I’m back in light training now, though, and back on the shakes, so I’ll hopefully start regaining a bit of mass soon.
