People calling him a flop are going to look stupid as soon as he gets a run in the team.

Especially a team that has better quality in it. I know that we can only judge players on what we have seen, but there is a general lack of foresight with some football fans.

How does Bailey do with more creative players, better passers and a more solid defensive spine to the team?

Same for any player that underachieved last season. How does Mings do with Kamara in-front of him, and Carlos beside him?

We will be a different team next season in many regards. Maybe Bailey will continue to underperform, and continue to be a weak injury prone player, but there is also every chance he thrives in the new look Villa team that is being built.

not very professional by the French boss there......

The French have never been known to sugar coat their thoughts and feelings. It's why France is often perceived as a country full of rude people, but they're just straight talkers. Deschamps didn't say anything untrue.

  3. I don't have a problem with it. Yes, it's not traditional, but he's using their social media to keep his profile in world football high which benefits Villa in the end.

We're already seeing the recruitment benefits of having him as our manager. He's one of the best midfielders to ever play the game and it seems players want to be coached/managed by him as a result.

Gerrard showing up on way bigger social media accounts isn't a negative to me. He's a legend at Liverpool, and I think it's cool that Aston Villa allow him to do this.

The GM mode is so buggy. I did a 50 week season and it literally crashes every tike i reload in week 28. I cant play so will have to re start. This isnt the 1st time its done this.

Whats up with wwe games being buggy ffs

They're developed on a rushed schedule because WWE want there to be one game per year. WWE 2K22 benefitted from a 2 year dev cycle because 2K20 was abysmal, but even 2 years is not enough time in this day and age.

  5. As long as Aston Villa still have a say in which of his clients they sign then I don't see the issue. Having a good working relationship with agents (or "super agents") doesn't seem like a negative. In theory treating agents nice so they keep us in mind when their client wants to move is just smart business. That said there doesn't seem to be much in this link.

People outside of the club just don't  understand NSWE are the real deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if most people outside of the club don't even know that we have some of the richest owners in world football. NSWE fly under the radar. They aren't the kinds of owners that want to be in the spotlight, so Villa have these owners worth tens of billions and no one outside of Villa seems to know that.

Not sure how the gun laws work in the UK and if there is a restriction on how many guns we can own as long as all the storage and permits and stuff is in place, can I own 20 shotguns if I feel like collecting them?

    These are the steps required to get a gun in the UK;

You have to apply for a firearm or shotgun certificate.

You need a firearm certificate if you're after rifles (both single fire, or semi-automatic). While pistols/handguns are completely outlawed and cannot be bought even with a firearm certificate.

You need a shotgun certificate if you're after shotguns. The UK allows all forms of shotgun be that lever action, pump action, or semi-automatic.

To get either certificate you have to go through a multi stage process:

    • Complete an application form.
    • Provide a passport photo.
    • Have 2 references if you're after a firearm certificate, or 1 reference if you're after a shotgun certificate.
    • You also have to pay a fee for the certificate you're applying for.
      • The fee is given to you by your local police force.

You must also have a sit down meeting with the chief officer of police where they will ask why you want the gun, what you're planning to do with it and if you seem responsible enough, or of sound mind to own the gun.

Once you have passed all the stages and have your certificate you are free to own as many guns within the certificate classification as you want. There is no legal limit on how many you can own, although every single gun you buy does have to registered to your name and your certificate. This certificate also has to be renewed every 5 years.

That said even once you have everything squared away, and you're operating above board and you have your gun for whatever reason there are still heavy restrictions:

    • If you own a semi-automatic rifle it is limited to .22 rimfire calibre ammunition meaning its potential to cause catastrophic harm in the wrong hands is greatly minimised.
    • If you own a shotgun it is limited to a capacity of no more than three cartridges.

It's hard to get a gun, but once you have it there are laws in place to make sure that if the gun is misused it's not catastrophic.

Do you not see a difference between how Man City and other teams play? The players don't organize themselves.

When Pep comes to a new club, he radically changes how they play. It was the same when he was at Bayern.

I didn't say that Pep does nothing. It's obvious that he's a very good tactician, and he does change how teams play I'm not disputing that at all. If I was I would have talked down his tactical prowess in my post, but I didn't. That said at many of the clubs he has been at he has been assisted in radical change by a blank cheque, but that's football in 2022, I don't like it, but it is what it is.

Gerrard has been very clear that he inherited a team that were used to a different system. A team with certain players that weren't great either skill wise, or mentally. While he's also had to play half a season without a dedicated CDM (Luiz is not a CDM, he hates playing there). He's been very open about the inconsistency that comes with changing the team mid season in a world class league. I'm in full support of being very critical if we're still shit next season, but it takes time before the machine is firing on all cylinders. It takes several windows before most managers have a team that they can dominate with, unless of course you have the money to buy £300 million worth of players in a window, that speeds things up a bit.

So far he is a chequebook manager and he has been given the keys to the bank here

He needs to do his job now and improve players on the training pitch

To be fair the only way to succeed these days is with a chequebook. Now, I personally don't like that, but Gerrard being a "chequebook manager" means he's an ideal fit because the only teams winning the league are those with massive bank accounts.

Does Guardiola improve players? Not directly, no. I mean if you stick 30-40 world class players in training sessions together then they will improve, but that's not Guardiola doing anything special, that's just a side effect of spending £1 billion on players.

I think people look at Leicester winning the league and believe that is still possible, but it's not. That was a fluke, a one off, and Leicester will never win the league again unless they break out the chequebook. If you want Villa to be the team that improves players, then you're also wanting a Villa team that will never win anything again because that model is dead.

Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs are not improving players, they are buying world class players and doing the bare minimum to keep them world class.

    Momentum.

    Emotion.

    Belief.

It was all about that first goal - with it I think went our belief and the best club side in the world were suddenly filled with belief, momentum, emotion and motivation.

This wasn't a confusing shocking collapse like the Wolves game, as soon as they scored it was very likely they'd win the game - that's the way football is - it would have been the same if it had been just about anyone - I'd have fancied City to beat just about any team in the world from 1-2 down in this game - I really don't think you can understate the importance of that first goal for them.

`tis what it is - meaningless end of the season game for us is over and we can look forward.

    [shrugs and moves on]

Not to mention I think the score line flattered us a bit. We might have been 2 goals up, but we had still spent 75 minutes chasing the ball. You cannot chase the ball for 75 minutes, have 30% possession for most of the game and not tire massively heading into the final 15 minutes of the game. People might have been surprised by our "collapse", but it wasn't surprising at all. This is what Man City do. If they don't play you off the park by scoring 6 goals, they'll wear you out until you can't defend their attacks anymore. This is what they do, I don't know why people are surprised.

  11. I'm pretty chill about this game. I would love to see us win, but it's the last 37 games that have dictated our current league position so this match feels like a nothing game. We can't finish lower than 14th (even if Southampton win today), and we can climb as high as 10th today if we win and results go in our favour, but this is about as chill as I've been on the final day in years.

  12. Ronin by Ibaraki

Ibaraki is a melodic black metal side project by Matt Heafy, the lead vocalist & guitarist of metal band Trivium. The special guests on this specific track are Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) on harsh vocals, and Ihsahn (Emperor) doing the guitar solo.
