  1. SSN states that Downing has YET to pass his SECOND medical?

Why 2 medicals, seemed to have no issue with broken leg since Petrov broke it.

Still a chance they won't take him.

Keeping Downing, Albrighton and buying Zog wouldn't be a bad thing

They may be having trouble finding his spine.

  2. I hope so Julie, said on the BBC report earlier that he was out there so christ knows.

    Not sure he would care..

But I think Ian Taylor knows simple tweet of #N'Zogbia #avfc about half an hour ago as we posted.

Sir Ian wouldnt dick us about either, i think/hope this is as good as done ,well financially anyway.

  3. Only off tweets... so don't shoot the messenger...

But apparently CNZ didn't go to Sweden with the rest of his team mates last Monday as I'd heard..

He's been in France with his family. Deal done with Wigan.

On a plane back to B'ham apparently to sign for Villa!

I hope so Julie, said on the BBC report earlier that he was out there so christ knows.

  4. is it just me being pessimistic that we have agreed a fee after agreein to sell downing thinking we need to sell to buy?

    no

If you have nothing better to add Richard, do you really have to comment?

Christ on a bike, some Villa fans really do astound me as to how negative and pessimistic they can be.

Hooray....talks could have been going on for ages just because 2 deals are happening at the same time it doesnt mean ones funding the other anyway when is VT's annual trip to Bridgend?

  5. just watching johnson press conference, why hasnt villa signings been like that. bid on monday, medical on tuesday, conference wednesday instead of this dragged out process.

Because we dont like to do our business in the press, we like to make sure we get the best man for the job, judge us by our actions not our words, the board will demonstrate it's ambition over the next couple of weeks, [insert other Krulak-isms] etc

. Didn't Moxey also say they'd been in negotiations since blose went down? So not that quick really.
  6. The thing is im not even that angry, i just feel heartbroken and im a 34 year old man. Weve gone back to the darkest Ellis days. When will it ever end. I never thought this board would do something like this, they clearly know nothing about the game and the fans.
. Mate I'm 32 and consider my self a very rational person and feel exactly the same, as fans fair enough we do like a moan and we're entitled too but this is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure any other manager mentioned for the position would have had the fans support albeit begrudgingly with some but we would have got behind them, think I speak for most in saying that if we'd have had a poll when Ged had to resign for the last person on earth you'd like to see takeover at VP he'd a resounding winner, let's just hope there's a twist in the tail yet.

You're 32 and feel heart broken that Aston Villa would like to interview McLeish? And you consider yourself "very rational"?

Well if you can explain to me what sort of message this sends out from our club then i'm all ears buddy? interview or not why on earth is he even on the shortlist?

  8. Moxey hinted on Radio WM - that we didn't go for Hughes as Randy has relationships (presumably Business) with the Fulham owners - this explains why Mcleish resigning is ok - where as Hughes resigning wasn't -

Yes I know its Moxey - and he hates the villa. But it would explain why we didn't make the expected move for Hughes. Looks like Mcleish to me now - get your tin hats on

that makes no sense. why would randy not make a move if he wanted - hes not going to upset fulhams board as they are not going to care: hughes has resigned and they have a new manager.

And the manager being the one they wanted in the first place.

  9. It's a well known fact that after the invention of microsoft word, followed by texting, followed by facebook and twitter, the human race is slowly forgetting about the art of calligraphy.

Never been a huge call for calligraphy in Birmingham. Let's face it, the blue half of the city have only just got to grips with smearing their own excrement onto the walls of their caves.

    :D

It must be difficult to write when you have no thumbs :winkold:

    And webbing between your fingers.

  10. Thank you for your patience gentlemen, and welcome to this afternoon's press conference. Apologies for the late start, but I'm sure you're aware that there have been some delicate negotiations going on, and these things take some time.

Before making any announcements I'd like to thank all the local caterers for their generosity with their time. As you can imagine, there were a number of candidates keen to apply for the very desirable post of my lunch. I am aware that there were several rumours circulating about whether I would go for some exotic foreign name, with the hint of glamour that inevitably accompanies it.

In the end, after much deliberation, I decided that now is not the time to be taking risks with my digestive system, and in the end had little hesitation in opting for a tried and tested candidate.

So, without further ado, I would like to announce that my choice of lunch was:

Cornish pasty, caramel shortbread and a cup of coffee.

I'm sure you will agree that they now need to be left alone to get on with their job. We will not be taking questions at this time.

    Thank you.

    Absolutely typical.

The reticence that preceded the announcement allowed space for such a hotbed of speculation (also fuelled by apparent ITKs such as Mr Plums) that some of us were conjuring up all sorts of menus from caviar and champagne to an exotic mix of italian cured meats washed down with a pint of Fuller's.

The lack of ambition shown in your eventual choice has now made all of us dreamers look rather daft; we can only surmise that you don't aspire to moving up to a seat at the top of the table and instead are satisfied with mid dining table mediocrity.

    Out with the (cheese) board.

ITPONT (in the packet on the table)
