Standouts for me are clearly the round one - this is actually perfect and two borders gives plenty of blue - and then somewhat surprisingly for myself would be the Lerner-crest shape but with the new/temp. round badge lion and the two-lined Aston Villa.- this would scale down and be readable very small. In fact, I already tried to so similar but didn't manage it as well as yours because you have much better contrast in the gold:

    03/04 Cambridge Halls - Hulme

    04/05 & 05/06 Ladybarn Lane

    06/07 Egerton Road

    07/08 St Paul's Road

08/09 Goulden Road (off Burton Road)

    09/10 Didsbury Point

Then transferred out to South Korea.  Bit of a journeyman until my last 11 years spent in Oxfordshire.

I do also like how uni and post uni house rentals correlate with football seasons.  .

I can also confirm that I watched sitcoms in all of these locations!

We’re getting closer now, did you live in one of the apartments on little St. Paul’s road? We might’ve even lived in the same flat at different times! Would’ve made a good location for the best sitcom of all time by the way.

Haha! I don't think so.  I had some friends live at 54 in the couple of post uni years.

Most the parties I went to were in the Albion/Furness Road area.  What years were you in Fallowfield?

Better stay on topic.  I like some sitcoms but I don't likr other ones

Our lives during a university drunken haze in the Manchester suburbs could've made a sitcom.

I've lived in Oak House in the 06/07 season, Welly Road 07/08-08/09, Heathside/Heyscroft Rds 09/10, Mouldy Rd 10/11, St. Paul's Rd, 11/12-13/14 perhaps, then I had a half season loan at Cambridge, came back up in an apt on Deansgate for 14/15 with a fellow Villan randomly, then 15/16-16/17 on Burton Rd back down South, then I had a brief stint for Cracovia before having a last loan spell back in the UK at Stanton Gardens around 17/18 before finally retiring at Cracovia.

Haha, not far off, I was on Ladybarn Lane in a 9 bedroom monstrosity.

Kings of nothing though, except possibly highest volume of doner meat between the gaps of the sofa.

Your bus stop would've been conveniently located next to Chicken King if you chose to eat after the bus home rather than before. Did you ever go for a house party at ~81 Mauldeth Road? That place has a bank vault inside, great for raves.

Wait, did I used to live with you?

Wellington Road? We were the self-styled Kings thereof, at least according to our WiFi hotspot name.

  7. Have I ever mentioned that time at Uni when I had a split screen TV so me and a mate spent a whole Saturday afternoon watching four seasons of Peep Show and playing 26 games of Pro Evo. Must've had a bout 15 stellas as well and then went out to 5th Ave on the piss waaaaay. Best day of my life to be honest.

Never been able to figure out why Seinfeld is so highly regarded.  Just seems like the most bassline of generic American pish.

I've just started watching it following the conclusion of Curb and upon the recommendations of an American and a Polish friend. I've had it on the background while I casually work on the sofa in the evenings, hasn't made me laugh once yet but it's been harmless enough. And I actually find Friends funny, unlike almost any US "comedy" apart from Curb, growing up with that at the right time, but it has indeed as mentioned aged very badly in places.

What's the scope of "sitcom" here?  Because I've seen Darkplace shouts, and if Darkplace is in scope, then the answer's unequivocally Darkplace.

Some don't have the longevity to be considered seriously, including GM's DP and even The Office. But for one-offs you can even throw a shoutout to Nathan Barley while we're at it.

Still anyway nothing even touches Peep Show.

  10. I wouldn't want to take a 13-hour flight in economy so yeah, but probably in that situation he had enough cash in his pocket to pay for his own upgrade to Business at least (not that he should have to do so on a work trip).

I would've definitely felt bad kicking the youngsters out of their first-class experience though. Still would've done it, but I'd have felt bad at least until the champagne kicked in.

I bet Terry didn't feel guilty though, and that's the difference between he and I. That and the racism, and the crypto fraud.

Any Ekstraklasa fans? There's been lots of talk of Sinisalo having a  good season, but Zych seems to have become guaranteed starter for Puszcza, Ekstraklasa seems to be about Championship level I'd think, definitely better than League 1 I think, just judging on Polish results in Europe lately. Hopefully another promising keeper

Ekstraklasa is barely Sunday league standard :D

The letter spacing / tracking on the Villa word vs Aston is very very poor, I can't unsee it and looks very amateur hour.

I tried a similar one once, this looks worse because the letters don't align but not much you can do if you want symmetry:

Dont think we did a great deal with Archer if we have to pay to get him back

Let this sink in, Wesley scored more PL goals for relegation fighting Villa than Camereon Archer scored for relegation fighting Sheff Utd,  Wesley missed half the season.

He's still worth more than £9m. That's half of a Solanke five years ago.

Why wouldn't we want to buy him back for that price? Even if we don't intend to use him, we would do a similar buyback deal with another club or sell for the same £9m (still beneficial for FFP this way) + 25% sell-on-clause.

There's still a chance the page in question will see some traffic in the coming days and I'll reap my deserved rewards of internet points, ,but I already don't trust anyone to get it anymore.

I’d still be worried about Spurs if they had demonstrated any tactical flexibility at all this season…. Which they haven’t.

Any sensible coach would look at the 2 bankers in the final two games and think if we are slightly more pragmatic than normal and pick up a win and two draws against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City we’ve got a real chance here….

But Ange being Ange will play in EXACTLY the same way as everyone expects and teams of this quality will be ready for them in exactly the same way Newcastle were.

In fairness they can't just wait til the last two games and try to only be 3-6 points behind then hope we lose to Liverpool and possibly Palace too - they need to in touching distance before that. You can bet they'd rather have those two games first so they could get back on level terms. The scheduling has worked out well for us in this sense, however it ends.

Sorry everyone - not as smooth as the rest of you.... the insert button doesn't like my link, and I'm clearly not getting it - is it restricted for newbies?

These designs are somewhat original, but in large part draw basis and inspiration, with some tweaks (some almost copies - so acknowledgements to you all), from many posters on here, 1957 badge, previous badges, tradition, and looking at the array of modern designs across the top leagues in europe.  I feel it has to predominantly Claret and Blue (not yellow and blue) so it works on the shirt and in media as a representation of us. Current lion is far better than the blobby lion from learner (in my opinion), but back facing left and not falling over.  Star is gone - its small time - if we hope to be in the UCL in the next season(s), take it off now! Most work well on claret or white (away kit should always be white) with maybe a font colour change on some.  Apart from one these, the AV diamond with gold lion (I think by teale's tash) would be my vote rather than the drop shadow abomination..

If you click on your image, then right click and "copy image address" or similar, then you'll have this URL: https://i.imgur.com/53Rx6pr.png

Pasting that here will automatically embed it like this:

    53Rx6pr.png

Then it's taking the image directly from the host site and not uploading it here and using all the storage space.

Nice designs by the way! There aren't too many I get on with purely from a colour scheme perspective because, if you did read every page of this thread, you'd know that I'm a staunch supporter of claret background, blue border/highlights, gold lion and name, e.g.:

If you'd like to mock some up like that, it would be appreciated! Oh and if you want to tag someone to get their attention, type the @ symbol then their name directly afterwards and choose from the list: @Ingers
