  1. Got it wrong it with the 3 at the back but has to get credit for changing it around and the subs worked .Would like to see us be us be a bit more direct think we are trying to play a bit too much football at times and a lot of our players at the back and I'm the middle aren't exactly great passers we seem to play much better when we go direct .

  2. Don't have the players to play 3 at the back need quick CB for that .4-3-3 seems to be the shape that we have played our best football in so I would go with that .

  3. Formation was all wrong in the first half it gave toon a extra body in the middle and shelvey bossed the game for them,3 at the back doesn't suit the players we have firstly you need pace at the back to play that way something we don't have and secondly you need your back 3 and holding midfielders to be comfortable on the ball again something we don't have .We looked a different team with 3 in the middle in the 2nd half the changes worked ,thought Kodjia was excellent and we looked a decent team 2nd half .Newcastle are the best team in the champ and they should have been 3/4 up in first half but we deserved a point in the end and it was great for the team to finally should a bit of character to come back it could be the turning point in our season .

I was sat behind it and it looked like at most he got a tiny bit of contact out of the defender before he went down. I don't think the contact had anything to do with the fall but....I've seen no replays. On first look I thought the ref had it right, did TV show otherwise?

No penalty was a blatant dive ref got it right .

  5. If Villa are serious about getting back to the Premier League we need rid of players like Grealish his attitude hasn't been good enough off the field ,Villa are trying to change the culture of the club  which for the last 5 years has become a laughing stock which the attitude of certain players like gabby  ,lescott etc have been a major problem of why we are where we are ,we need the right type of players at the club and Grealish young or not villa fan or not needs to go this has happened on a number of occasions and is simply not good enough

  6. Our biggest problem is that RDM hadn't had time on the training ground with this set of players ,Most of pre season was taken up with getting rid of the players that were no longer part of his plans ,the majority of our signings came in very late in the window  and with that RDM has had very little time to work with them ,we haven't at any stage had our best eleven on the field I think when the menager gets more time with his players the results will come it is very naive to think we will be a great team and win the majority of our games When the players have hardly trained together ,organisation and everybody on the same-wavelength is a massive part of building a successful team something that we possibly couldn't have no matter who we have managing us ,we will get there we have the players we will get it right but it will take time unfortunately .

We just had 0 shots on target and held on by the skin of our teeth to Ipswich **** Town. Just how **** low are your standards?

We got relegated last year with 1 of the lowest point totals ever in Premier League history ,we have had to totally rebuild squad and they have had 3 games together since window has closed ,a point away to a team with one of the strongest home records in the league is a good result ,we are only 6 pts from playoffs and we will only improve .

There are loads of easy games in this division, most of the league are shite. We should be good enough to start beating plenty of teams home and away starting with Ipswich. If we don't then the manager will be under huge pressure and rightly so.

Money buys success. We've spent alot, where's our success?

We have spent a lot of money but we have a complete new team and we are only 7 games into a complete rebuild it will take time unfortunately but we will get there

I still think it's too early to judge him, but he certainly has questions to answer.

If you thought the rebuild job, including all of the required gelling would be complete by half way through September then you are deluded and completely unrealistic.

It's not Di Matteo's fault that his strikers presently couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.  If they had even one shooting boot on each we'd have battered a few sides already, we'd be further up the table and this conversation wouldn't be happening.  But yes yes we haven't battered a few sides and we're not further up the table.  It's not like the strikers haven't had the chances.  Blame the manager for that?  Good one.

The questions he does need to answer are around his ability to change the game.  Whether to close it down or to go again.  Regarding closing the game down, I think he has been hampered so far by his lack of choice in midfield.  Against Forest he had very little to bring on given that he started with his 2nd choice midfield.  Even against Brentford when trying to close it down, he brought off one of the 3 strikers and put on his only central midfielder.  Not a ridiculous decision by any stretch.  You could argue Baker might have been better, but by all accounts Brentford pack the midfield so maybe he made the right move but didn't have the right man to put in there.

I've no complaints with how he sets his teams up initially and I've no complaints with the instructions they're given.  Other than some early-season new-teammate jitters and individual errors we've shown that we're more than a match on the balance of play for everyone we've faced so far - other than perhaps last night where the opposition edged it.

There are still more league games left this season than you'd get in the entirety of a Premier League season, and we've gone through one of the biggest rebuilding jobs that I can remember other than maybe the first season of the Premier League.  We're already playing some lovely stuff and we've yet to have a fully fit squad to choose from.  Give them some more time.  They've started to click but it's not there yet.  Once it is, we'll be hard to stop and there's plenty of time left.

This post sums up perfectly the way I feel about the whole villa situation at the moment we are a work in progress have plenty of work to do RDM hadn't had enough time really to be judged even with 60 million spent ,I think our performances have been good with the odd exception and I think we will start getting results sooner rather than later

Ask Brighton last season, 21 match unbeaten run start of the season, other teams, boro and Burnley nowhere to be seen.... Who goes and gets promoted, Boro and Burnley.

Plenty of examples of this Sunderland did it a few seasons ago and so did Reading it happens constantly not saying we will do it but we have the potential to do it ,we are just drawing too many games at present .

I cant believe people still peddle this nonsense. Stability with a shit manager is more insane that sacking someone after 8 games.

RDM is useless. This wont change in 10 games, 15 games, 46 games. Act now or by November we will be "building for next season".

Who would you get in instead of RDM ?

  12. Getting rid of RDM this early is crazy talk ,what we need is stability been to much chopping and changing of managers in the last few years ,yes our results will have to improve but we very easily could be top if we held onto our leads all it needs is a couple of wins and we will go on a run ,there is countless examples of teams in the champ being nowhere at Xmas and going on a long unbeaten run and get promoted ,I wouldn't even look at the table this early in the year 20/25 games in is when we need to be getting worried if we are not showing signs of putting a run together would much prefer us finishing strong than starting strong and running out of steam very long season there yet.

  13. A disappointing result it was a game I thought we would win .Conceding another late goal was extremely frustrating but we have all learned that there are bk easy games in the champ ,Brentford are a decent side ,I realise we have spent a lot of money but it's simple we have had to we haven't invested in the last 5 years we are building a new team from scratch I know it's frustrating but it will take time get a couple of 2-1 or 1-0 wins and we will take off squad is good enough to be in the top 5 prob even higher .

  14. We have the squad to go up think we have signed well our problem will be getting it to gel before we are too far behind when it does come together we prob after Newcastle have the best team in Champ .
