  1. Having the assistants behind the goal is absolutely pointless. I've seen every minute of every game so far (apart from the last group games that have been on at the same time and I've been switching between both) and in the whole tournament so far I have only ever seen one decision made by one of these assistants and it was to help give a corner against England in the Sweden game. Easy job! Getting paid to stand by the goal for 90 minutes and do absolutely **** all. I might become a ref!

  2. Come on Sweden! Come on Olof! You can do it! (Rob Schneider voice)

I think Mellberg is suspended actually so come on Zlatan, you rat faced gypo looking idiot. A draw will do! I think England will win 2-0 but it won't be easy! Just relying on Sweden to get a result so that we can finish top and avoid Spain for a little longer. If we can avoid Spain I really do think that we'd scrape through against Italy.

  3. Send Norwich down at their place on May 4th, anyone? :winkold:

Or visa versa, now thats what I call karma.

This is like waking up the next morning after your house party to find that unwanted guest still hanging around in your kitchen. You try to be polite for a while, but sooner or later you're going to have to tell them to **** off.

  4. I'm not getting my hopes up or anything because it all depends on what our squad is looking like come August BUT 6 or 7 out of the first 10 fixtures are definitely winnable! West Ham away will be tough but it could have been a lot tougher. It takes the piss a bit that we are away first AND last though!

  5. I knew the Czech's would go through. I remember people were writing them off in this thread before the tournament started which I thought was odd. Very surprised that Russia went out though but after the trouble that their fans they've been causing I bet the authorities are over the moon that they've gone! There are some right characters in that Greece side!

  6. He's doing a Q&A at the kit launch. Any idea what has been asked?

More than likely a bunch of retarded questions that he couldn't possibly answer. Such as "Alright Paul, what players are you buying?"

It's always the same when these Q&A's happen, there's never anyone whose brain is functional asking questions.

  7. To be fair, last season I saw quite a few kids with the Genting logo on their shirts so obviously some places are printing them! My little brother's mate had the logo on his and he's like 12.

  8. Ashley Young has played absolutely shite in both games so far!

Mellberg is having a great tournament. Yes, Sweden have lost both games and yes, his poor marking has lead to them conceding goals BUT some of the tackles he has been putting in have been superb!

I can't see Ukraine causing too many problems, especially with Rooney now back in. I'd drop Young and play Walcott. I think Hodgson will keep the same team except Rooney in for Carroll though. Milner should keep his place because of his defensive work rate. Also, I'm not a big fan of Glen Johnson but apart from some dodgy passes he's done alright. Made some very important tackles.

I don't know why but I can see France struggling to beat Sweden. I reckon it might be a draw. I don't think we'll hammer Ukraine but top spot is definitely there for the taking. If we managed to avoid Spain I'd definitely back us to just about sneak it against Italy or Croatia!

  9. How do you think he'll do next season? He can't go past his goals tally that's for sure.

It's not "for sure" at all. If he stays fit all season then he could beat it! It would be crazy if he did though but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

  10. England defended pretty well. Looked quite solid at the back to be fair. Defended far too deep at times though! I thought Welbeck played good. Always willing to run and cause problems.

Fair play to Shevchenko. I still expect France and England to go through though. Mellberg had a decent game, apart from Shevchenko's first.

  11. On what I've seen recently, I found The Wrestler very good on all accounts although it might as well have been subtitled "a dramatisation of Jake the Snake in the documentary, Beyond The Mat"

Ha ha. Beyond The Mat is legendary. The best documentary ever made! The Wrestler is decent too.

This coming from a hugely biased wrestling fan! :D

  12. I wouldn't be against signing him. Good pace, can beat a player, deliver a decent ball and also score a few. Only 21 as well. I imagine a bid of around £2 million would be enough to get him, unless Holloway started being an idiot again. I think I remember Cardiff having a bid rejected for him in January for about £1 million.

  13. I can't speak for everyone, but for me it's true, my expectations have been lowered after the last couple of seasons. But that's only because I'm trying to be realistic. At the moment we don't have the players who can achieve a top 6 finish in my opinion. We have to start again. When MON first took charge we improved a lot but we didn't get a top finish straight away.

That's my thinking. My expectations are lower for Lambert's first season. In one or two seasons time then hopefully we will keep getting better and better until we're fighting for a Europa League spot or perhaps even better than that. We're not going to go from finishing 9th, to finishing 16th and then next season shoot straight back up the table. All of our problems will not be fixed in one season, let alone one transfer window.

Yeah, that's pretty much summed it up really.

  14. Given made some absolutely vital saves for us last season. My one problem with him, which to be fair is quite a big problem is the fact that he doesn't command his area anywhere near enough as he should, especially with the amount of experience that he's got. He rarely comes to catch or punch crosses or set pieces and this is definitely one of the reasons why we were so poor at defending set pieces.

Giving him a five year contract on 50,000-60,000 a week at the age of 35 was stupid. If he stays then fine but he needs to command his area more. Whether that can be drilled into him at 35 though is another thing! If he does go, which I doubt, then I'd be fairly happy with Foster as his replacement.

Also, on the subject of Given, I still can't believe that he didn't get player of the season!

  15. Lie to us Rob. I wanna hear the stories :)

Yeah tell us this lies, this is the internet and telling the truth is irrelevant.

    Ha ha.

Ok, well the one that I mentioned as a stalker, really was a stalker! As I said, she used to turn up at all the events that I was playing at and she used to go around the clubs telling people that she was my girlfriend. Before I knew about this though, I used to speak to her via facebook messages. Nothing crazy, a little flirty but that was about it. I had started seeing a new girl and she came to watch me dj. I was walking through the club with her and this stalker girl saw me with this girl. If looks could kill I would have been dead trust me ha ha! Anyway, to cut a long story as short as possible, when my girl went to the toilet she was followed in by the stalker girl who had a smashed glass bottle in her hand and she tried to stab my girl with the bottle. I wasn't there as I was dj-ing but apparently the stalker girl was shouting stuff like "leave my boyfriend alone" etc. Luckily there were a few bouncers nearby the toilet and a girl that was in there ran out and told them what was going on. My girl came away from it with a few cuts on her arm. I later found out that this stalker girl was in a long term relationship and she had 3 kids. I didn't see her around for about a month after that incident, then I was walking through a club when I saw her and she ran over to me, grabbed me and started crying her eyes out saying sorry and she wouldn't let go of me. I felt proper embarrassed because everyone could see what was going on but I just pushed her away and walked into the dj booth. Then when I was going home she was waiting outside for me and she started crying again and being loud, basically causing a scene in the street but I jumped in a taxi and **** off. I checked my facebook the day after and I had loads of messages off her saying sorry but I blocked her. Luckily she stopped attending the events that I was playing at but I still used to hear stories about her antics at other places.

I've got a few more pretty weird stories involving facebook bitches but nothing as crazy as that one.

  16. Yes, you do get some proper mental case girls on the internet. Facebook is full of them. I've got 2 Facebook accounts. One is private that I only allow for close friends and the other one is public but I've recently made it quite restricted. I've got nearly 3,000 "friends" on that one plus another 400+ friend requests that I haven't accepted. I used to DJ every weekend. Some of the girls that I'm "friends" with on that account are crazy! There was this one girl that used to turn up at EVERY event that I played at. Most of the time on her own. She used to tell people that she was my girlfriend. Proper stalker shit I'm telling you! You would think that I was a liar if I told you some of the stories involving me and the Facebook bitches! Especially this one that I mentioned.

On August 24, 2009 during a league match, Jáuregui was red carded together with Leonardo Medina of Oriente Petrolero after a clash. While leaving the field, he ran towards Medina and kicked him in the throat. Jauregui was banned to play in Bolivia for 9 months and charged with assault. On June 10, 2010 Jauregui made his official comeback with the team after his suspension was completed. In January 2011 he transferred to San José.

    Crazy!
