Too often over the last few years, Villa players, when we are under pressure, are just too happy to get rid of the ball instead of trying to do something with it. Dick is right, we score then try to hang on. We need him to bring in players with a more confidence on the ball, with a more positive approach.
I think we might be surprised with some of the players he will want to replace.
I think this manager is as good as we are going to get, so hopefully he is given the tools.

Contrast how Arse got the ball to Odegaard as quickly as possible today , and how slow we are at getting the ball to, at the moment, our best footballer at the club. Luiz and Maginn were too slow on the ball, and Emi and Watkins don't hold it up well enough. He might not be the player he was, but he still has more ability than any other player.
We need to get Ramsey playing more and to develop as he is the player we need to be playing alongside Kamara.
Thought the 2 FBs played ok today.
Bost CHs worry me

Bailey gave more attacking threat than Emi today

Don't like Arse but they deserved to win.
The game plan was a good one, let them have the ball, catch them on the counter. Unfortunately you need players to hold itu p better, and better use of the ball when we have it.
For me Buendia and Watkins give the ball away too much, and Luiz and McGinn haven't got enough incisive passes in them to play this way.
Kamara and PC are good enough, as probably is Ramsey
For us to reach Arses level we need another good midfielder, and a wider attacker who is good on the ball.
Not far away imho

The Moreno/Coutinhio combination was the best thing that come out of ydays game.

Should have looked behind him for their 2nd. Cleared the ball well, then no awareness where the attacker was. Never once looked over his shoulder.
2nd goal, either play offside , or follow the runner , he did neither.
He has been ok this season, but he was at fault for 2 goals yday

Gallagher to Everton, we get Onana........sorted

Ounahi for £10m is an absolute bargain

My thoughts
Martinez, probably the best goalie in the Prem atm
Young and Moreno......Young was the better of the 2, i think we need to get used to Moreno being better going forward than he is at defending. Their RW is a lively player though, as is their RB.
Konsa and Mings......very comfortable, their best game for quite a while imho.
Kamara......always comfortable, a ver very good all round player.
Luiz........better than last week, keeps the ball moving, think he needs to be more positive.
Ramsey......I think he is a key player for Emery, his movement, pace, and willingness to get in the box I think is essential to how Emery wants to play. Not yey up to pace, but could be a very good player.
Emi/Coutinho........both want the ball, I think Emi is safer in posession, but PCs attempt to play the ball forward quicker than Emi is what Emery wants from this position. I really want one of them to step up, get more assists and more goals, if not to move forward we will have to replace.
Bailey/Watkins,.........both work hard, both have their moments, but want too many touches imho.
Like to see another good midfielder come in, prefer Guendhouzi, and being greedy a CF

You can't fault Sterlings workrate or attitude, however whenever he has the time to think, that is when questions arise about his ability for me.when opportunities arise he always makes the wrong decision for me, he passes when he should shoot, and vice versa.
Would go all out for Johnson in the summer tbh

KentVillain, by introducing lower Corporate tax rates, did Ireland not receive more taxation income?

If you are wealthy you are more able to change society for how you see fit. If you claim to be a Socialist, and you tell everyone you "care", then you have a significantly better opportunity to effect society more than the average person. When a multimillionaire tells me he is a Socialist just for effect, then i am calling bullshit.
-
No its not. It reflects the hypocrisy of people who are able to change society to the utopic society they claim to support
Faux Socialists

So was Trostky
Theme here?

Redistribution of wealth blandy
I'm not sure Mick Lynch is acting on behalf of ALL his members tbh
Dave Nellist used to take the average wage of his constituents to show his dedication to their cause. Mind you Corbyn was in Islington, so probably not the best example.

I don't disagree with your point Bickster, but i'm old school, you can't be a rich Socialist

Corporation Tax is a good example. Ireland introduced a low rate, 12.5%?, copying Luxembourg under Junker, and what happens, Google, Amazon etc set up their HQs there and take tax away from the countries from where they are making their money.
Taxation on unproductive wealth?....didn't really follow your point on that one tbh.
I'm not sure CGT is very effective either

Prefer Adams at Leeds to McKennie,
Would love Ounahni tbh. For me the stand out, attainable , player in the WC.

They both use tax avoidance schemes, they all do. Say one thing do another. Ferguson is another great example.
-
Ill spell it out.
If you make tax too punitive, then it has a negative impact on revenue, The world is a smaller place, you can work from anywhere in the world. The UK has numerous attractions for the rich, tax them by all means but get the balance right.
Your prejudices suggested that only Tory voters use tax avoidance schemes, and i'm the one who is in the playground?
-
I stand corrected.

Gerrard tried to get Bentacur after he had signed Kamara, have to say it looks like it would have been a good partnership.

You can make as many excuses as you want, bt 1 nil up against title contenders , you don't give a goal away like that.
He gave 2 away against Leicester as well.
Carlos should be an improvement, but I don't trust Mings tbh
I'd keep a watch on that lad Bournemouth have just bought.
