Nah thats it now we wont get rid of him now unless Pardew gets trigger happy with his £45m in the summer (which he probably wont even get).
Gunna have to hope that GH's [probable] replacement can get him back to his best and injury free.

would be a very good front 6 if they were all on form, but i'd have hoped for a Milner/Gerrard &GG type midfielder instead of Ireland to be the attacking engine in midfield working off of Delph/Makoun/Bannans passing. Ireland is very much a luxury player as he doesnt have the right work ethic but he would be very useful in the squad. 68k wage for a bench player isnt good enough though.
And he's a twunt.

There two center backs are decent there rest are a pile of dogshite. Like i said only because they have a decent manager that sets them up right they would be right down there..They have a solid defence and that makes a hell of a difference.Surely this goes for any manager. They are good enough to stay up,

We've done the Mourinho rubbish 9 times now. Not happening.

People seem to forget that Moyes still has 2 years to run on a £3million per year contract. Everton would be extremely reluctant to let him go. He would be one of the most expensive managers to try and get.
Isn't it 1 year on a £4m contract?

I'd say telling somebody they couldn't have a job because they were from the wrong country would constitute as racist, im sure as hell thats what the police would be telling me if I turned somebody down for a job because they were foreign.
/exaggerated hypothetical

I think the only 2 things that would keep him here would be
a) more starts
working with Darren and Downing
It's obvious Downing, Young and Bent love playing together and the main thing that would suffer if one of them were to leave (apart from our league position or bank balance) would be their England careers. Playing together is obviously working and with hopefully better players around them and a new manager to continue GH's work this will only get better.
Whether Bent is trying to force Randy's hand by publicly saying these things or whether he truly believes we can keep Ash remains to be seen, definitely encouraging though
-
yes we get it, your racist. We've already had the British/foreign debate.. do you actually have an opinion on who exactly should get the job?

We know Houllier (obviously) and Sven were interviewed.
We approached for Moyes (but were told to **** off).
Decided not to go for Jol because he was at Ajax.
Mourinho said 'next year'.
Thats about all we know.
Didn't Curbishley get an interview too?
Did he?
Jesus. We really were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Darren Bent has urged Aston Villa not to sell wingers Ashley Young and Stewart Downing in the summer.
Speculation has suggested the pair could leave Villa Park at the end of the season, but Bent believes Villa need to keep hold of them if the team is to be successful in the future.
The England striker insists every player at the club wants Young, who has just over a year remaining on his contract at Villa Park, to stay despite reported interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

He told Sky Sports News: "Everyone in the dressing room hopes he stays because he has had a fantastic couple of years at Aston Villa and we want it to continue.
Fantastic
"He's a top, top player and he has been linked to some of the best clubs in the country and when you are playing as well as he is, it is only right.
"Stewart Downing has been fantastic since I've been here, supplying goals for me left, right and centre as well as scoring them. If we can keep hold of those two players it will be fantastic.
"Obviously, for selfish reasons, you want those two players to stay because they supply chances left, right and centre.
"If Aston Villa want to move forward we want to keep our best players and those two are certainly two of our best players."

I'd expect him to go back to Italy, but a great shout none the less, obviously already likes the 4-3-3 system many of us on here would like to go with, obviously know all the English players as well as having international pull, could be a great choice.
Wouldnt be against that at all, the media have made out Capello to be terrible but they've been a bit stuck of late (other than the captaincy issue) for reason to bitch about him, not sure he would stay in England purely because of the media. But definitely a good choice.

Apart from Houllier, we're useless with foreign managers
We've only had one other foreign manager. 21 Years Ago.
-
This just in. Baines was a Liverpool fan as a kid. Thats what some of them are saying on GOT anyway.
Can I go about wishing us to sign him again now?
edit: nvm theres an excerpt from an interview, he was a Liverpudlian for a while, lost interest in football, liked Blackburn Rovers but has been an Evertonian since 14.
...no loyalty, sign him up
-
British Managers are given plenty of chances, didnt somebody earlier post the league table with the nationality f the manager? Wasnt like 14 of them British? Thats more than enough and from those only 2 of them have been seriously spoken about on here in Coyle [at the club he loves - depending how much he loves them could be tempted] and Moyes [could be tempted, if not he's on par with us at Everton anyway].
-
If Gerard was to leave a good foreign shout would be the Atletico manager Quique Flores. The Revista La Liga guys said we'd have a good chance of getting him.
No thanks.
Somebody reads The Sun when England are after a new manager.
-
Well, technically yes. Realistically no because they would be financially **** and probably be told by Uefa they cant compete. They'll be fine on both counts though imo.
-
Id like a thicker shirt this year, ours seem like they are made from tissue paper compared to Nikes Barca ones.
-
Ahwell, theres still hope for Tabanou and M'Bengue
-
I think Eden Hazard was a joke. Wouldnt be surprised if they thought they could sign fabian, players that dont get much game time over here are always going to attract their attention (as they may not be aware of reasons for him not playing).
The guy one mentioned, Dzsudzsak, from PSV I would love to see here, quality player imo would be a great replacement for Young.
-
If our next manager comes from is Libyan and called Gaffer Gaddaffi and he gets us Europe i wouldnt give a ****.
-
Yes he is too predictable on the right, but his pairing with Walker is fantastic on the attack because they dont know whether Downing will cut in or overlap with Walker who will then surge down the flank and cross, or down the flank and then into the box like he did vs West Ham and put in a pass.
Downing and Walkers partnership is great on the attack I hope we can find an equally potent threat on the left next season
-
Unless we sign a really attacking left back
But then Downing on the left wouldn't work because you want someone opening up the space for the left back, Downing hugs touchline on the left, cuts inside on the right. :winkold:
Downing and Walker on the Right
Baines and Young on the Left.
Dream solution
I agree, but Downing is good on the left I think a 4-3-2-1 should be our formation next year, with the 2 being 'roaming' wingers a la Young+Downing for England, practically a 4-3-3 just 2 forwards swapping just behind the striker.
I know our wingers swap already but they seem to do it at about 25 and 65 minutes, its a set thing or a touchline instruction could really be effective if they could organise it themselves and swap and change and be effective at it - or was organised by a captain, whether the wingers get to byline and cross or cut-in could be a game changer at some times (as we saw with Albrighton vs Chelsea and many other occasions i cant recall)

Everything hinges on a)the new manager the defence we buy c) Youngs replacement

The fact Newcastle sacked him when they were 11th shows how **** stupid Newcastle were.
