To be honest I'd really like us to try and take Steve Bruce from Sunderland.
-
1 Fergie - UTD
2 Ancelotti - Roma
3 Arsene - Arsenal
4 Mancini - Italy
5 Dalglish - No chance
6 Redknapp - England
7 Moyes - Has to be approached
8 Coyle - Could do worse, may not be interested
9 Hughes - Please no.
10 Pulis - No chance
11 Hodgson - Could do worse
12 Pardew - Lol, no.
13 Aston Villa
14 Bruce - Doesn't need any more of our players shagging his daughter + Ex Blues?!
15 Big Eck - **** No Chance.
16 Kean - No Chance
17 Holloway - No Chance
18 Martinez - No Chance.
19 McCarthy - No Chance
20 Grant - No Chance.

Villas-Boas
Van Gaal
Moyes
Rikjaard
Deschamps
Hiddink
Coyle
Ranieri
Lambert
Houllier' Mother
Hughes
would be my list.
-
Ranieri over Hughes though surely?
-
Just be honest its because he's not English.
-
Great kit imo.

Please dont think the views of people saying only a British manager should get the job reflect the views of the rest of us you were completely right to get a big name in with a proven track record. No disrespect to Houllier intended by discussing this but I think a proven manager would be much better than somebody purely because they are British. Now, Moyes would be the best of both worlds but Rikjaard/Hiddink/Van Gaal are bigger names than Hughes for a reason.

Ranieri took the Juventus Serie B team and got them third in the league in his first season [expected tbf]. And was sacked after Mourinho's Inter Milan won the league in his next season (Juve finished 2nd).
He won the league with Roma didnt he? Then had a bad season this season, shit happens.
Going to wiki for his other jobs: He rescued Parma from relegation and then left to be Juve Manager.
Only sacked from Valencia after getting knocked out of Uefa cup... he got a lot further than we have in recent years.
At Chelsea he got the clubs best league position in 49 years and got to the semi finals of the Champions League but was under heavy pressure from the start of Ambramovic's reign.
The core of the Chelsea team which won two Premier League titles under Mourinho, including John Terry, Petr Čech, Arjen Robben, William Gallas, Claude Makelele, and Frank Lampard were all brought to Chelsea or nurtured by Ranieri. And thats his last 5 jobs. So yes he has resigned or sacked from them (obviously as thats how any manager finishes a job. Doesn't sound that bad to me to be honest.

Ranieri would be a great choice.
-
Walked right into that one!
-
Lol, smalltime.
-
And then NV could take all our suggestions and we'd be less worried for a shit kit!
-
There is no other foreign manager in the world you would have other than Villas Boas?
-
I thought villas-boas was mourinho type anti football?
No way. I watch alot of Portuguese football and Porto have been fantastic this season. In the last two games I saw them play over the easter holidays they beat Benfica away 3-1 and beat Villareal 5-1.
Sign him up

No way would Andre Villas Boas join even though he would be perfect for us.
The board have no ambition to hire a young oversea employed manager. It has to be an old experienced PL unemployed washed up canidate. No risk and no drive.
That or Villas Boas will only leave to a much bigger club than us? no no, much easier to say that our board is shit.

:/
OptaJoe Opta Sports117 - If you combine PL goals + chances created this season, F Malouda is top (117) followed by K Davies (92) & S Downing (89).

There are no shortage of top class managers out there just depends on whether we have the ability to attract them.
Moyes, Hiddink, Rikjaard, Van Gaal, Deschamps etc and I think we'll struggle to get them but I'd rather see us attempting for these than contemplating Mark Hughes who I believe will turn us into complete Midtable fodder over any length of contract.

Great reply general, appreciated.

We should be judging the season as a whole and not micro assessing the season. Two wins on the bounce, yippee!! Big deal. This season has been shocking. Really not good enough.
No no. This thread is about the last 28 days and is quite specific about it.
-
Given that he wasn't in charge for the Stoke and West Brom games, he does meet with my approval for the last 28 days.
My thoughts exactly, cant believe some of us are blaming him for Stoke and West Brom te guy had a serious heart problem.
-
One thing. How can we replace the team as much as we all expect and not run afoul the Financial Fair Play rules?
A lot of the players we all mention [me included!] could cost around £70m meaning we hope Randy gives us around £40m which would be pure debt (meaning around like £80m of debt - presuming we dont lower the 40m debt from last season)
-
He only recently signed a contract extension (last few weeks) for 2 or 3 years I think
Next Villa manager (Poll added)

Woah! I was joking guys. I was joking. He just went 10 games without a win with a fairly decent team.
