  1. myth there mate, how is the PL greater in strenth in depth when the same 4 teams with the odd exception are in the top 4, you don't get that in La Liga

OK, Arsenal Man Utd and Chelsea are way ahead of the others, but the race for the 4th spot is still interesting... and it's only been the last few seasons it's been that top 4... go back a few years and there was Blackburn, Newcastle, Villa, Tottenham, West Ham... various teams at the top... this 'top 4' thing might not even last for a great deal longer, with various teams building to challenge.

La Liga has possibly better quality in the Uefa Cup spots, but beyond the top few the quality is very poor. The games between the mid-table teams are often rather dull and lacking quality.

  2. Daventry and Disctrict Tuesday Night 7-a-side League. For entertainment (we won 8-0 last week), quality (me) and crowd atmosphere (theres always this chap walking his dog).

However, in terms of the namby pamby professional league, it HAS to be the Premiership. Much better quality in depth. Granted, Barcalona vs Real Madrid is fantastic to watch, but so is Arsenal vs Liverpool... and beyond the top teams, the entertainment and quality is much better throughout the league in the PL. Example: which would you rather watch, Everton vs Reading or Valladolid vs Racing Santander?

  3. Once it's been perfected, the first people to pounce will be those interested in profiting from it commercially. Therefore your option about Jurassic Park, which many will probably vote for thinking it to be a joke option, won't be far from the truth.

Edit: Or a military use, as pointed out previously. The argument over whether that is "right" or "wrong" is a very different one.

  4. Sunderland have enough to survive I think. If they can keep Keiran Richardson fit then they will be fine. Richardson and Jones, with experience like Yorke... they should be fine.

Fulham, even with Jimmy Bullard are really gonna struggle. They have no real goalscorer in their team. McBride is good in the air but I don't see him as a goalscorer like Bolton had with Anelka. They are also very leaky at the back.

I think it'l be Derby and Fulham, and for the third place I'd probably go with Bolton - who I think will really struggle without Anelka (although they are currently 1 up against Blackburn with a fantastic Nolan goal)

  5. Deaf people, although greatly handicapped, can still enjoy an active life. They can still get good exercise, still watch Aston Villa play, read books/newspapers, do crosswords and puzzles to keep brain active and still do a good number of jobs. They also have subtitles for films and TV, and can learn sign language. Blind peoples options are considerably more reduced.

  6. I believe there must be something out there. Whether it's intelligent life as advanced as human kind (or further) or simple single cell organisms, the sheer size of the universe is surely too much for only one planet to sustain life. Bacterias, amoebas, extremophils, fungis... not all extra terrestrial life has to have little green heads and fly space ships.

Whether I believe human kind will ever make contact or even discover the other forms of life is a different question...

  7. Mayweather because of the extra 7inch reach!

    This is the biggest key.

But it's publicised well enough for Hatton to have adapted for this. Mayweather wins alot of his fights from people staying well back, but misjudging that reach and catching the full effect.

I expect Hatton to get right in close to him from the start, and I think Hatton can take and give more punishment than anyone Mayweather has fought before.

Hatton to win, by knockout, within 6 rounds.

  8. It certainly does seem like he's using them as a stepping stone, but if you were Birmingham right now (I know, it's hard to imagine without being sick...) wouldn't you be willing to accept that?

If he can 'use them', save them from relegation and improve them a bit, then I think they'd be quite happy to then let him go to a bigger club at the end of next season and bring in someone else to carry on where he left off.

Whether or not he can actually achieve this is something else.

  9. The 20 goal striker doesn't really exist anymore does it? Well not just in the premier league

    I'm not so sure..

Anelka and Benjani are well on the way this season. Adebeyor, Drogba and Torres are certainly capable of that aswell.

I think Benjani is the leading scorer and he has scored 8 goals so far in their 14 games.

So on his current form, if he can keep it going he on course for 22-23 goals.

Although, the African Cup of Nations will slow him down.
