BOF Posted December 11, 2006 Moderator Share Posted December 11, 2006 by Penfolds An overdue acknowledgement of a Villa great. General Krulak has mentioned in his forum thread that, 25 years after the event, Ron Saunders will finally be given formal acknowledgement of his achievements, at the home game with Man Utd. With Ellis finally out of the way, the club can formally thank the man who built the best team in Europe, but wasn't good enough for Ellis. Ron Saunders was manager, when I was a teenager, and when Villa were a big club doing big things. Being in Australia now means that I won't be able to be at the game, but can I ask all Villa fans to show their support and respect for one of the best, the most astute and motivational managers the club has ever had.... BOF Posted December 11, 2006 Author Moderator Share Posted December 11, 2006 I think you can see by the fact that the game has been sold out for a week now already - that this is going to be a special day. I just hope the players rise to the occasion because it should be a win and nothing else on that day.
