CVByrne Posted May 16, 2012 Share Posted May 16, 2012 It's a very well timed IPO, they are now at a dead end in growth of the userbase and the migration of users from online to mobile will decimate their ad revenue in coming years. So this is certainly very near the high watermark of Facebook and as such a good time to have the IPO. Whether it works or not Googles Android adventure at least gives it a very strong foothold in the mobile browsing which as we know is where the future of internet browsing is headed. Facebook simply does not translate to mobile browsing well. Yes people can access their facebook on a smartphone but how to they make money from such small screen realestate? Also hours spent on facebook will likely drop as the internet moves mobile, people will play apps on their phone and not facebook apps on a pc. Obviously there will be huge initial demand for facebook shares, but it has a very tough future ahead. I'd prefer to stick with companies getting the smartphones in our hands in Apple and Samsung than a risky stock like Facebook certainly is.
