Today Villa Talk welcomes Nicky Shorey as the newest member of MON's squad. Nicky Shorey Height - 5" 9 DOB - 19/2/1981 Following the horrible injury in the recent Intertoto game to fans favourite Freddy Bouma MON has acted quickly to try and fill the hole left by the absence of the Dutch hard man. Today Villa Talk welcomes Nicky Shorey as the newest member of MON's squad. Shorey has this evening put pen to paper on a three year deal to complete his switch from Reading to once again link up with his former team mate and close friend Steve Sidwell. The last few years have seen the career of Shorey go from strength to strength having completed a move from Leyton Orient in 2001 for just £25'000 before making his England debut just 6 years later playing in all four divisons on route despite almost having his foot amputated due to a blood infection. His move to Villa Park has been wrapped up in just a few days ensuring he is eligable to make his debute in the Uefa Cup a week today. A solid left back with an eye for goal Shorey also has an impressive record for assists and will likely prove to be a very valuable addition to the Villa squad in the coming year.
