Allowed to sneak under the turnstiles by the man on the gate, passed down to the front, right on the edge of the pitch whilst my dad stood with his mates further back. Massive crowds, the noise, the drama. Loved it and very happy days. Moved away in 70s and now rarely pass through Birmingham, but have always remained faithful, difficult down here surrounded by Chelsea and Arsenal fans. My dad will be spinning in his grave with all the recent trials and tribulations, he’d be heartbroken. But we’ve been here before (old division 3 anyone?) and we will rise again. Up the Villa!!
