Newcastle United v Aston Villa

Barclays Premiership

Location: St James' Park

Date: Saturday 18th August 2007

Kick Off Time: 17:15

Another week and no more signings, but don't despair folks MON's men intend to put the smiles back on all of our faces tomorrow as we head north to take on Sam Allardyce's men.

First of all let's take a look at the Villa squad who travel to St James' tomorrow. Scott Carson comes into the side no doubt spurred on by his England call up and looking to impress Steve McClaren. He is expected to start between the sticks in what will probably be the only change to the side that started against Liverpool last week. Bouma, Mellberg, Lsursen and Gardner will make up the back four, playing behind Barry, Reo-Coker, Petrov and Young. Carew and Agbonlahor should start in attack.

Aston Villa:

Injured Players: Thomas Sorensen (Hamstring), Patrik Berger (Hamstring)

Unavailable Players: None

Possible Debutants: Scott Carson, Marlon Harewood

Player to watch: Ashley Young - Scored on his debut for us at St James' Park and his creativity will be needed if we are to get past Big Sam's defence..

Newcastle had a fantastic strt to the season going straight to the top of the table after hammering Bolton 3-1 at the Reebok Stadium. Newcastle managed to offload their "sick note" Keiron Dyer this week to West Ham and saw Michael Owen overcome his injury troubles to return to the squad. New signing Joey Barton is stil missing through injury, but pundits expect to see an unchanged side from last week's triumph.

Newcastle United:

Injured Players: Shay Given (groin), Damien Duff (ankle), Joey Barton (metatarsal)

Unavailable Players: None

Possible Debutants: Cacapa

Player to watch: Mark Viduka - The Aussie forward was probably the best signing of the summer. Viduka is a class act and will no doubt be looking to open his account on his home debut.

Prediction:

Last week I predicted a 2-1 win for Villa, this week I'm going to do the same (it's got to happen one week surely!) Villa have the potenital to break through Newcastle's defence and were unlucky not to get anything from our trip north last season.

Very optimistic for me. Can't see us getting anything from this one.

So Berger's injured again! I didn't realise. He's worse than bloody Laursen.
