Harewood is a powerful forward who came through Nottingham Forest's youth setup making his debut for them in 1998 at the age of 19 where he forged a brilliant partnership with David Johnson. He stayed with Forest for 7 years scoring 51 goals in 124 full league appearances and 58 sub apps.

He was signed by Alan Pardew for West Ham in 2003 and was West Ham's top scorer in their promotion season of 2004-05 season scoring 23 goals in all competitions. His first season in the Premiership was a great success for him scoring 14 league goals including a hat-trick against us. The 2006/07 seasonn was not one of his, or West Ham's, better seasons where he only bagged 3 league goals in 19 full apps & 13 sub apps.

On his day he can be a very tricky customer to contain as evidenced by him taking Villa apart with his hat-trick, but as last season also showed he can go long spells with no goals. His main competition at Villa is likely to be John Carew and Villa fans will be hoping he can find his scoring touch again and prove to be the difficult opponent he has shown to be in the past.
