Dodgyknees
I've got a PAYGO sim and I want to use it to pick up texts. Is there an adaptor for my laptop, where I can put the sim into my laptop and receive texts etc?

Dodgyknees
I did think about that, but it's a Three Mobile sim - and somebody told me they don't work in the cheap phones?
samjp26
I did think about that, but it's a Three Mobile sim - and somebody told me they don't work in the cheap phones? Ah I see, yeah I think Three sims can only go in phones with 3G connectivity (if I remember correctly). If it is literally for just receiving text messages, I'd probably go the eBay route and look for any cheap phone with 3G. If you want to get the messages on your laptop as well, try find a cheap Android phone and grab an app called MightyText (it sends your texts to your laptop, from your phone). A quick look and I can see a bunch of Samsung GALAXY Mini GT-S5570 available on eBay for around £20. To get that to work with MightyText and newer apps, you'd need to put CyanogenMod on it, sounds like headache but it is a piece of piss if you're slightly good with computers etc. Edited June 7, 2014 by samjp26
Dodgyknees
I'm trying to get hold of a Samsung S2 or something similar, could be handy to be used as a second phone also (would mean I can turn one off!).. I'll have a look at the phone you suggested & also MightyText. Cheers!
samjp26
Yeah if you don't mind paying a bit more I'd definitely try to get a newer/better handset, just didn't know how much of a cheap arse you wanted to be No problem bro!
