  1. Maybe it's because it's a little more common in American sports, but it's not unusual for the head coach of a team to fire offensive coordinators or various other people that do the day to day management.

Yes, it's partially to deflect the blame and ultimately, the manager/head coach is responsible for all things in the team, but over here, it's not unusual for the manager/head coach to fire some of his coordinators or assistants from season to season. Sometimes, they really are doing a poor job.

Now, it's unusual to do it in the middle of the season, but it's not unheard of. I don't know. Maybe that's why I don't see it as such a huge deal

  2.

So the question is , why has Lambert been apparently backing these pair`s training methods and attitudes if the players have been so obviously pissed off with them ? Is Lambert the gaffer or not . More questions over Lamberts stance in this situation .

He's worked with them successfully before and probably trusted them to do a similar job here. He is human afterall.

    Might be the case.

He's been working with them since 2006. Hard to tell them to bugger off.

  3. That does make sense on Ned's part.

Though it was a very dangerous game on his part to keep Jon close whilst still remaining friends with Robert. Though by the time of Jon Arryn's death, they hadn't seen each other in a while, so maybe not so dangerous?

  4.

As long as I never have to see 5 in the back again, I'll be happy

I can't wait to see your reaction when Antonio Conte is unveiled as the new manager next season ;)

    Tears.

    Of happiness of course.

  5. I'd be incredibly surprised if Jon Snow is dead. We haven't even found out who his mother is.

But I'm rereading DWD right now and I'm starting to feel bad for poor Quentyn. I hated him the first time around, but I pity him now.

  6. Could it be that as these two did the tactics and team selection and these have been the biggest bone of contention with us that the players also are not happy with the situation. just looking at the way we have been playing recently it is as if we have the brakes on and the players are not giving their all, Could it be that PL will remain a figure head till the end of the season and SID and Shay will sort the rest out. maybe Saturdays match will show us.

A slightly reasonable idea. If they were the ones who set up the team, that would explain a lot since that's been my biggest bone of contention with Lambert

  7. Thanks for the double knock on sam. Never used that before.

Game is still pretty shite though. Par for the course for EA. Think I'm just going to avoid their games for a while.

  8. Realistically, it won't matter too much who replaced Lambert.

Might look a little different, a few places up or maybe some "effective" football that gets results.

But the problem at Villa has taken deep root for the last 4 or 5 years. Until there is a change of ownership (and even then who knows what the new owners want to do), I'm afraid just more of the same water treading.

  9. Not too bad. Really should've done better on the Westwood pass. One of the few players that know what they're doing though.

But hard to judge because of the terrible formation.
