  1. ...........................................Given....................................................

    Young.......................Collins..........Dunne.....................,,..Warnock

    ..........................Makoun........................Petrov..............................

    Nzogbia..............................Delph......................................Gabby

    .............................................Bent....................................................

Subs. Guzan, Clarke, Ireland, Albrighton, Ivanhoe, Bannon, Fonze.

Thats how i would have the team tomorrow. We were much to narrow against Fulham and tired during the second half, gave the ball away much to easilly. So hopefully Zoggy down the right will give us width and threat, and Makoun the Ball retention.

Decided to keep Gabby left, but we really have to give him balls where he can get past the defender, instead of to feet. Hes not a flaming winger, so has to use his pace to get past the fullback. Why we persisted with this last week is beyond me.

Also decided to play Delph in a more advanced position. He has the pace to and ability to support Bent aswell as get up and down the pitch.

Albrighton to remain on the Bench, but i would use him against a hopefully tired Blackburn defense for 20 minutes or so.

    This manager lark is easy!

  2. Im looking forward to seeing him fulfill his potential this season.

Played excellently against Fulham, so should keep his place tomorrow, alongside Petrov and hopefully, Makoun.

    Give him Irelands role.

  3. Am I right in thinking that Bent still hasn't scored in front of the Holte yet?

C'mon Bent do us Holtenders proud tomorrow :D

Lets hope we can get the supply to him, otherwise it may be a long wait.

  4. Hi General,

Will Randy be at the game tomorrow or will he be elsewhere like the other thousands?

At least the others have reasons, but for a owner to only attend ten games last season, and then preach he loves the club, is pretty rich in my opinion.

    Also....

Do you think our manager has the tools to enable a top half finish, and if not, when will you be providing him the backing you said he would get to do that?

Our manager seems to think we wont, and we need more players. So how does this cut, because since we are a Football club, and he is a Football manager, you would think he knows a little more about whats needed than either me, you or Randy, ESPECIALLY so when you cant see anything because your not at Villa Park?

    And....

With QPR being bought out, when is Randy selling, because it certainly looks like you guys have thrown in the towel?

  5. Cameron has said that the game may go ahead, but early kick off!!!!!

The guy is a complete mong.

I have now got to take the kids into Handsworth at around seven in the morning. Hopefully its peaceful.

No chance in hell of getting to the other pick ups, due to public transport in this city being worse off than bangladesh.

I feel like rioting, because it looks like its 166 quid down the drain.

  6. I note the Lulus entered town this evening, to help claim back the streets.

This from a bunch of morons that have a longer record of dragging this cities name through the gutter, than any spout of looting has ever done. :bang:

Best joke ive heared in ages!!!

Besides the rumours of st andrews being broken into by 150 rioters, and the club asking if they could mark it down as their record attendance!

  7. Guardian saying the games could be re-arranged for next thursday if cancelled so we wouldn't have two easy home games to kick off the season.

    click

Guardian also has a quote from the Police, that they are gearing up for trouble in London Friday and Saturday, and that all Police resources are focussed on that.

So basicly no scaling back, and no premier league fixtures this weekend i guess.

Dont forget, its not only the Police, but other emergency services involved at Football games aswell, and i guess they will be even more stretched at the moment.

  8. wow - the ridiculous naivety by some in this thread is well and truley shown.

No wonder how the club are getting away with the ridiculous summer we are enduring.

They are usually the ones that dont even attend, so why should they know?

Joking apart, i just think some people are just trying to be positive, because the news coming out of Villa Park is so negative.

Denial is just a way how to cope with it.

    It will turn around.

On the Kids, i just think they need help . Most youngsters have a promising break through season, and then redress. Its just the way things are in their development, and its why you should not rely on them for a whole season!!!

And thats with a team thats not struggling!

We need players in, or i can see some of the promise these kids have being mentally and physicly destroyed.

Its criminal to throw the pressure on them like this.

  9. I think you will find we did, but he was so non existent that Ged just had no confidence in playing him again.

Also went to Newcastle and spent most of his time out on the piss.

I hope he comes good - just feels like clutching at straws though.

I think after Fulham, we will be looking at other straws to clutch, whilst on here, we will all be going around in the same circle we did last season, on numerous occasions!

We need Ireland to come good in not ten games time, but from the off. I just dont see it happening, and i just dont think we have the middle pairing that can feed him the ball, to give him a chance to do that.

  10. My Dad's just told me that some 'fans' were smashing the toilets up again.

    Brilliant.

    WTF!

If this is true then they should be ashamed. I hate the noses as much anyone but I still couldn't understand the mindless vandalism in what happened at the Sty last season so this against Derby is beyond me.

Just who are the Aston Villa toilet boys?

What a great reputation we are going to have if this continues.

I went, and the bogs i visited after the game were fine. Only trouble i noticed was a couple of noses being smacked up by some of our own, then thrown out by the stewards at half time.

Steward told me that they threatened the stewards saying they would be back on Saturday, so watch out lol.

Think they may recognise the one, cos his face popped out like a beach Ball.

I quite liked Derby, the stewards and Derby fans were ok, and other than the above, i witnessed no trouble.

  11. McLeish has yet again done very little over the last 31 days to gear up Villa for next season. If he was told the wages are too high and he needs to sell before buying etc..Whats he done to address this? Today we have Heskey turn down a potential move to Leciester, does that surprise anyone considering McLeish is giving him a run out in pre-season, giving the player hope of featuring under his regime? Of course not..

Players like Warnock, Dunne, Petrov and Heskey are all gonna stick around whilst they have a chance of making the 1st team..I suppose to a manager of McLeish's standards he will see these players as top drawer, I mean he liked Carr and Bowyer, so these past it Villa players are a luxury to him. Yet a manager with better pedigree would have told them that they are not good enough for Aston Villa and where we want to be. A good manager would have been honest to them and told them that maybe they should instruct their agents to find them another club as they are no longer going to feature in the 1st team and the reserves is all we can offer.

Action is what we need...Funny that under Houllier within weeks he had Carew, Sidwell and Davies all moved on. And come this summer no doubt Warnock and co' would also have been the likely departures. McLeish is out of his league with a potential top 6 club and we are drifting further away because he isnt ruthless enough.

Not having a go, but i think you are being pretty unfiar on him.

I mean, what can he do?

Hes been told no more money, and make do with what hes got, or ship somebody out.

How much would we get for Heskey? And when hes sold, we are down another body, and weaker in another area. Who would we get for the money recieved that would be an improvement?

Who is going to take people like Beye, if hes not playing?

At least the manager is playing Heskey with the purpose to get him sold, hence freeing his wages.

The people you need to look at are the idiots that have put these restrictions on him, effectively swapping the same conditions found at Small Heath, to here.

But hey, lets blame the manager for those restrictions. Something that Doug has seemed to have passed on to Randy rather effectively.

Anyways, im off to Derby now, hopefully see some of you later

  12. And who let the club get to this position....

Maybe this is the position it should be in right now. I can't see a magic solution that allows us to compete with clubs that make three or four times as much money as we do every year, or with the two that can put in a couple of hundred million every season - is it fair for us to ask Randy Lerner to spend his entire family fortune getting us to compete with these clubs in the short term?

Sorry to have to break it to you, but this is our position, we're the seventh or eighth biggest club in England and financially the gap between us and fourth is bigger than the gap between us and the Championship.

Exactly. And the gap gets wider with every preceeding season. Its a gap that will never be addressed with kids, and its a gap than can only be closed by spending money.

It speaks volumes of just how unsporting this spor has become.

I think Randy realises this, and i think hes actively looking to raise that investment.

Im also not sure how Randys cash is invested, but im sure the current economical troubles in the states is having a huge effect, and nobody knows how much he lost during his divorce settlement.

I can really see him selling up within the next twelve monthes.

  13. Will we have to wait as long for Randys atatement as we have for the promised action from the Board?

Oh, and when we beat Liverpool and Arsenal, we had Young and Downing in the team. Youve since sold them, and as yet not really replaced them.

So when is that going to happen?

Will it be before Randys forthcoming statement, or not at all?

    Im losing faith.
