  1. He really didn't look too good. I am a little nervous to see him starting for us in the near future.

    So hes shit then?

Incidently, have you ever played football at any level, and have you ever played right back?

Lets just reserve our judgement until after hes had a run in our team. Its a concept that seems to be forgotten on here, since Football is an easy game to play....

Robots, the lot of them.

    Are you mental?

Possibly, since i still post on here

Mate, i have a differing opinion to you. That does not mean you can address me like that.......ok?

Tonight was one game, and yes, since your Czech, i guess you have never played football, (At a decent level, anyway)

    Joke!!!!!

  3. The difference between Gardner and Wilshere is one got a very bad injury and the other had an excellent loan spell at Bolton.

The other (and more important difference), is that kids develop and mature at different rates. Only the academy and youth team coaches can say....this boy is ready. Since they will know him inside out.

Hence, why i really hope he is not rushed into playing. If not ready, it could destroy him.

The pressures and expectations are so high.

  4. Any videos of GG playing? Haven't seen much of him

Try googling the Chelsea Villa Game in Hong Kong, where he came on in the second half, and was very impressive. Did not look out of place at all.

Though he was the complete opposite when he came on Derby. But thats what you get with kids, up and downs.

  5. I am praying that all the hype comes off with this lad. We need someone to pick us up.

I agree, but he is a talent.

Unfortunately, i dont think it will be this season. Maybe next, but i would prefer him to carry on developing at the pace he is, and not rushed into the team.

  6. People talk about Houllier like he was some sort of managerial demi god down B6

FFS, the guy was a joke, a walking, talking embarrassment to the club, and the football was dire - tippy tappy shite on the halfway line and woeful defending

Thank god he only signed Pires and Bradley on loan and that the Fofana and Cummings deals collapsed. Makoun from day 1 looked woefully ill equipped for PL football and his stinking contempt for the fans belongs to a bygone era.

What a Les Miserables spell of shite his tenure was

Somebody told me Houllier did Jigsaw Puzzles in his spare time at Bodymoor......

Ranted and raved about how one took him three months to complete, when on the box, it said 3-4 years

  7. I don't blame him for leaving, have you see the support they get? Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYLRzncHzzc. Who wouldn't want to play for support like that?

Compared to the pantomime villain reception he gets from some sections of our support....yeah, i can see why he went.

Sorry to be picky but you clearly can't.

Him going had nothing to do with the fans who either don't rate him or were unsure about him and everything to do with the manager not rating him.

    Trent,

There was a thread on here not so long ago, concerning our relationship with some big New York agency, and stating that the club was trying to force players to drop there current agents, for them, and that if they did not sign, the club could make it difficult for them.

Im proberly grasping straws here, but could all this that is happening now, be related?

  8. Look at it this way.

The bravery he has shown in jumping ship and jioning us - a club that no decent manager would touch with a bargepole, due to the restrictions in place - shows that he has a lot of confidence in his ability, and he wont run from a fight.

I like that, and hopefully he will sooner or later, get the tools to do the job.

There was nothing brave about that. He was either shipwrecked with the shower from the other side or he got himslef a better job. He jumped cause he knew they were in freefall. ours was probably the only job going.

That said we need a steady pair of hands and he is showing he is that. I'll give him time to provide a bit more excitement in our attacking play given where we currently are. i think this year will be a bit transistional with players going and having to free up some wages and some players contracts (on high wages) being run down this year, so I expect a busier summer next year.

  9. Not going to vote - too early to say.

I'd have preferred the "neither" option to be honest.

Cannot believe (well actually, now seeing what I financial mess we are in, I can, but you know what I'm saying) that we had to stoop this low to be honest given the managers that have been available of the past 18 months.

I do wonder if McLeish knew the full story when he signed. He seemed genuinely surprised and gutted to lose Luke Young last week.

    Look at it this way.

  10. dont get me wrong, Herd played well, but there is a HUGE difference playing full back against a Wolves side that took both wingers off and shut up shop, to playing central midfield against some of the best players in the world.

Sorry, we need a CM now !

I agree, but it was a promising show from the kid. I think Eck likes to have a an experienced back line, with people not learning to play there, but can actually play there. Just look at his time with the clowns and their backline.

Herd could prove usefull back up at RB, and Licaj at Left back, or vice versa.

As for CM, Warnock was a revelation playing there at Blackburn, and will offer good protection for the centre backs, since hes played there aswell. Worth a try?

  11. Herd can play CM he said on AVTV - who I'm glad to say proved a bit of a point at the weekend that we DO have some real talent breaking through the ranks but bringing in Hutton who can play LB & RB makes sense for £3M

Is it true that he has played up front aswell?

  12. I thought he was quite a good player at Rangers, good enough for Spurs to take him. Hes looked half decent when hes played for them aswell, before the inevitable bust up with he of the melted face.

Similar situation to Warnock and Houllier last term, just does not get on with the gaffer. It happens.

I will give him a chance, because if he can recapture that form at Rangers, then 3m could well prove to be a snip.
