  1. I didn't see the game so I was confused as hell for a while there. You know you're out of touch with pop culture when you scroll through 3 pages of this thread wondering why Ricky Tomlinson has a fanatical following of 13 year old schoolgirls.

  2. Going in only 0-1 after that shocking 40 minutes feels like a minor victory, although truth be told with a tiny bit more luck we'd be even right now, what with the chances in the last 5 minutes.

Bacuna looks out of his depth but everyone's been shocking. The entire defence looks uncertain, Westwood and Delph have been sloppy, Weimann's a complete passenger. Must do better next half, because this is yet another one of those shaky as **** Liverplop teams that don't deserve to be doing this well against us.

  3. I've been stopping by SaltyBets for the past few days, since Jeff Gerstmann tweeted about it. It's crazy how something so stupid can be so fascinating and chew up so much time. As someone too gutless, poor, overly cautious and easily addicted to ever bother with real online gambling, a fake money betting website based on stupid absurd robots fighting eachother is perfect for me.

When you sign up you get 400 'Salty Bucks'. I did quite well with a bunch of stupid random bets and got to about $1500. At that stage I went all in on a huge guy called 'The Blob' who lost 3 rounds straight, in 1 hit each time. Getting back out of the mines is tough, I only just broke triple digits again.

  4. I still can't believe that THQ went out of business and these **** clowns get to run a cash grab on THQ's old games.

That felt a bit dodgy to me too. I purchased but gave 100% of the money to the Red Cross.

  5. I'm switching between a bunch of stuff, including Batman: Arkham City on NewGame+ and Pinball FX2.

I'm also back to playing Drox Operative, which is a great little indie game that doesn't look like it will ever make it off Steam Greenlight. I posted here about it in January, calling it repetitive and mouse-mashy, but although it is those things I can't deny I've got a ton of enjoyment and value out of it. The maker continues to patch and update it for free, now 6 months after release. Maybe the best gaming money I've spent this year.

  6. Even as someone who is not the greatest fan of Giant Bomb, this causes deep shock and upset to me. When I read the news yesterday, it seemed like I'd been watching him or hearing him in a Quick Look or podcast mere moments prior, so constant and stabilising was his presence across so much of their content. A funny guy with a great breadth of knowledge and an interesting take on games, regardless of whether or not it matched my own. Terrible to die so young, barely a week after getting wed.

Earlier I had a fruitless hunt for the video where Ryan was testing the Famicom he'd shelled out for at considerable expense. It was quite a boring live stream, but for some reason Ryan's stern, unenthusiastic face as he tried out one piece of shit game after another was hilarious to me.
