Not copying and pasting it, but read a little conversation on Twitter between Vital_Villa and some other bloke called Richardfranks, and there's claims to have a text off Downing saying he's been mis-quoted and wants to play Champs League with Villa. Not saying I believe it, just thought i'd pass it on and others will no doubt go and investigate.

Have to agree with the above post General - Downing said he owed the club so much and hyped up the talks of a new deal, sadly according to this interview he's stalling and drops a hint he wants out to go to a club with Champions League football...sounds like someone has tapped him up, its obvious he is planting little seeds in the media for other clubs (Liverpool) to take notice.

I'm of the opinion that patriotism breeds more hatred for other countries and cultures than love for your own, but that's really another story. British managers are given plenty of chances here as they are given chances to work abroad in other leagues too. It's the same as any other business. The best man for the job, gets the job, it should be as simple as that.
