I'd have thought that if they did that there would be a lot of challenges from the other clubs who haven't been paid to remain in the Premier League. It does seem a bit of a stretch.
Spurs and Arsenal have had UEFA's pants down if they have been paid to stay in a compeition they're not in

Apparently UEFA offered a load of money to the English teams to back out but none to the Spanish clubs as they view them as the enemy

Our statement seems to be the only one that mentions action against the 6, perhaps Purslow is pushing for punishment?

Okay so, hypothetical scenario.
This whole ESL thing doesn't go ahead, and the PL, UEFA and FIFA decide to hold off on any form of punishment for these "break away" teams until the Summer so the current football season can be finished and players can prepare for the Euros.
If you were the powers that be, what type of punishment would you hand to these clubs?Points deductions and 3 year ban from European competitions

Intrigued to see what the UK Government do. They've been building up expectations quite dramatically and to the extent that failure to stop the league now would be seen as much more their fault than it would have had they stayed a bit quieter and not made any commitments. Might all be PR games still but I am curious.
Interesting bit from the fans forum Labour just held, was suggested since most of the clubs/their stadiums are in Labour controlled areas, there are options that could use to stop matches being played.

How will they renegade on s contract though, they can't save face either way.
How did any of the 6 think this was going to go down well, I bet they knew and just felt that they'd ride the tide but in essence the money that will come in on a yearly basis will be worth it... Scum!!
Can break a contract if you have enough money haha
