  1. i like martinez, but if he does come i will feel very underwhelmed and a bit let down. it does show a lack of ambition. we are a big club according to villa fans but this just proves others dont think so. all this talk of champions league and 5 year plans was bollox. and dont give me the one about how mancity moved the goalposts. we've been bullied by other clubs when our players were under contract. the board have been weak when the money was waved in front of them. randy is a billionaire businessman but refuses to try to hire anyone under contract at another club!!!!!! and people think its because he's such a stand up fellow. you dont make billions being mr nice guy. its because he doesnt want to pay compo. i have a fear that next season we'll be no better under martinez and come next summer this shite will just start again. i know how browns fans feel now, only we have that added fear of relegation.
  2. can i just take this opportunity to apologize for doubting the board or randy.
  3. What the hell have an American Football team got to do with an English Premier League Football team? Are they in the same league or even in the same country? How about this. We let you pick the manager whoever you want, when they fail because you dont know how to run a football club or know how it effects things like payroll, coaches, jobs and players etc then who's fault will it be? You'll be quick to have another go at Randy because by some comments on here its exactly like Football Manager and pretty easy. Just get Carlo, why not just get Jose? Its that easy. how about this. we let football people make football decisions. look at his record of choosing browns managers. young and cheap. not saying it will be mirrored at villa but its becoming very similar.
  4. But if he comes here, you will be happy with the boards ambition?? WTF?? The ramlings of a mad man. if he rejects us on the basis of what the board has to say. i actuallt wouldnt mind RM.
  5. It makes no difference! A manager will come in and will work with the team available. If he sees gaps in the team, he has a transfer window to correct that. If Ashley Young IS in the team, or Stephen Warnock IS in the team. It makes no difference. The manager has what he has to work with. If Ash isn't going to sign a new contract. Should the manager have a say in it? Most of the fans want him to leave if he's not going to sign a new contract. I'm sure Randy feels the same... and I'm also sure that most managers would prefer to have £15m to spend this summer, than have a wantaway-player in your team for a year, ready to leave for nothing. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE he's still under contract. he had to have been given permission. by who? an american football fan?
  6. i'm pointing out that they've hired one manager and it was a farce from start to finish. just look at all the houllier out threads and polls.
  7. like last summer. you think it was a coincidence to appoint amanager after the transfer window closed. but sorry, i'm not allowed to question oh great god randy. ask browns fans.
  8. how can we sell young with no manager? should the new manager not be given a chance to speak to him? whos making these decisions? the same muppets who thought we could just replace milner with ireland.
  9. 'smoke and mirrors' 'meltdown of bent proportions'. just two of the many overuesd expressions on here lately. how about, 'the board **** up, again'
  10. if martinez rejects us, i'll be very worried about our boards ambitions. This time last week it was #carlo2villa.
  11. To be fair, these are just rumours, so we'll have to wait and see until the Villa manager is actually unveiled before saying that. Personally I think and hope that this is just more smoke and mirrors. there it is again,'smoke and mirrors'. you're right its ancelotti. its not some eliteist secret society. its the aston villa board trying to appoint a manager of a football club.
  12. MM...bent style meltdown......there goes his credibility. and dont talk nonsense, he meant a positive meltdown. but, i'd be happy if it was martinez.
  13. i'd welcome rafa. Still a big name.
  14. Because running a football club at the highest level with a huge fan base with high expectations, is a really easy thing to do, right? Who's to say decent manager even want to come to Villa? People waiting to have a dig at the board are pathetic. you're entitled to your opinion. but any football decisions they've made alone, they've **** up. ireland for milner. MON didnt want it. houllier? commitments to fff that had to be fulfilled. and letting the transfer clock run down in aug before employing a manager? off field, they've been spot on and classy. so no, i'm not directly having a pop at them and personally people who think they can do no wrong are pathetic.
  15. MON left the club knowing full well it would **** up the season ahead. They are the facts, the bloke is a tosser... the only thing MON cares about is MON. As for the new manager..... Hoping on Moyes, cant see it happening at all though. i'd love moyes too. but on MON, nobody knows the facts and for me if the board **** up with this appointment then it is plain and simple to all that they dont know **** all about running a club. ask any browns fan what they think of them.
  16. why? what happened there? and show me some hard facts and quotes and none of this hearsay shit about what people think happened.
  17. Which part of that ridiculus statement was 'like last season'? when did MON leave? when did houllier take over? during which time did the transfer window not expire? coincidence? Is this serious? Please tell me you are on the wind up, or 8 years old? not a wind up. they wound down the clock purposely. like it or not, tell me one FOOTBALL decision the board has got right. Ireland? MON didnt want him, he wanted the cash but the board wanted ireland to replace milner. houllier? after his initial presser he flew back to finish work with the fff leaving us still managerless. they released some money in january, and luckily houllier was allowed to chose his targets, only to protect their invesment. dont get me wrong off the field there has been far more good things done by the board, and i am still 100% behind randy but any football decisions they have had to make have been a disaster. lets just hope they redeem themselves this time. or maybe they'll appoint mcclaren. it really wouldnt suprise me. leave FOOTBALL decisions to FOOTBALL people. So who are these FOOTBALL people that should be making the decisions? well not accountants and armymen ffs. you do know there are third paties who assist clubs with these decisions? let the manager choose the players. you cant expect to replace milner with **** ireland. just look at the browns boards popularity among fans and compare there dicisions there to their decisions here. the only difference is we can be relegated if they **** it all up. here ya go now, from twitter: Mat Kendrick I understand that #avfc have sounded out Steve McClaren's representatives. Whether SMc will be interviewed, I don't know

  20. like last season, they'll probably wait untill the transfer window has closed and unveil someone who was available all along. wouldnt suprise me at all.
  21. MatKendrick Mat Kendrick Lerner jets in to Brum today. He's set to interview new prime candidate + one other (both with Prem experience) over the next few days #avfc
  22. Like release a manager - that they knew they were going to release months ago - without having tabs on a replacement. today 6/6/11
  23. someone very close to the club said "what villa do next will shock everyone this is what was said to me today
  24. Theres a little more to it, but basicly, MoN wanted full control over contracts and transfers, and Randy took part of it out of his hands by giving Faulkner more power. Theres a couple of other things, but thats the beef MoN used to resign. yeah, i know thats what people usually think happened. where did this story of events come from or is it pure speculation?
