  1. It was Heskey OBE, NRC made the pass.

If he's not gonna give a pen he has to book Heskey for diving...

    That would be extremely harsh

Yeah but it's the rules, if a player goes down looking for a pen and the referee believes there is no contact it is a booking. Ref bottled giving the pen imo.

That doesn't say much for my powers of observation. :)

The game has started to settle I think now.

No OBE was right Heskey played the pass.

  2. Well done Andy, I think you've done brilliantly in your ratings especially of our budget.

    Current people signed:

    Ninis (loan 240k)

    Diarra (2.5m)

    Andre Santos (2.8m)

    Hugo Almeida (1.8m)

    Vincent Enyeama (230k)

    Alexis Sanchez (12m)

    Gokhan Gonul (1.4m)

    Out:

    Sidwell (3m)

    Beye (1.2m)

    Carew (1m)

    Bannan (loan)

    Clark (loan)

    Lowry (loan)

    Salifou (free transferred)

Having problems with wage budget though as I'm over 150k per week above budget.

  3. Bierofka was my favourite rubbish irl wonderkid, 300k and would go to anyone, who was the finnish kid in 09 ex villa and was awesome

I saw muller at the U21s the CL and then the world cup and was shocked at how much he stepped up, i take it from your comment he's not a -10 player or in the 180s?

Mika Aaritallo? Might be something like that with a few umlauts. If not I'd like to add him to the list.

  4. I blame violent computer games and the internet.

You can add to that films and the people who make axes.....**** !

No, we had films and axes When I Were A Lad, and nothing bad ever happened then.

There was only a couple of world wars :winkold:

  5. Gallas is offside, but being offside alone isn't an offence.

The referee decided he wasn't interfering with play, and it's easy to see how that's so, no one is really marking him, he isn't blocking the view of the shot, he just stand there and sticks a leg out and fails to touch the ball.

Him being where he was had no effect on the game, so I can see why it was given. But you know it wouldn't be given as often as it is.

Yes but he went for the ball which means that he is interfering with play. As soon as you go for the ball you are active.

  6. I'd take this if I was given it before the match. My main complaint lies at Carew as he can't seem to hold the ball up. Any ball played forward comes straight back and against Chelsea you would expect to be punished eventually. Give Carew a chance for the 1st 10 minutes of the second half and if nothing changes bring Delfouneso on.

  7. Jumping takes into account height, therefore it is not to do with how high a players feet leave the ground, rather how high his head reaches. Gabby's jumping attribute fits in with the guidelines.

No such thing as "a mere 10" funnily enough 10 is the middle of the road.

I assume that you have picked this up by looking at screenshots on one of the fansites who have a press copy. Please note that these may not be representative of the latest version of the database and I won't be answering any questions on them until the demo is released.

Fair enough, but I would of thought that Gabby was slightly above average in that area within the football world and yes I take height as a factor into account. I was picking out 1 attribute I disagreed with out of two players though there may have been more as I didn't look too closely. Overall I would be happy with those attributes if that is what they are.

  8. Could be in the frame for a suprise inclusion on Saturday, if Albrigthon does not recover.

Apparently Houllier was going to play him against spurs last week instead of albrighton but changed his mind at the last minute.

  9. I don't really want to see all that stuff go into fm (think it would go the same way as press conferences in that I would just assign it to someone else once the novelty wore off) but would like to see a more personal side of things to fm like being able to do things with your wage.

  10. At the start of the season, before MON left I thought about 7th/8th. So what sort of finances can we expect? Surely a good transfer budget seeing as we bought nobody and sold Milner for a hefty fee.

The way we have worked in past releases is to have a figure which we believe is the transfer budget prior to the window opening. After the comings and goings are added and deducted, you get your golden number which is the budget which goes into the game..................Of course, there are other factors to note, such as the Chairman deciding to re-invest the money elsewhere.

So, in conclusion, it would be quite possible for a club to spend no money in the window, then sell a player for in excess of £15million and still have £0 transfer budget when the game is released.

Is this your way of telling us Villa have no transfer money on the game?

  11. Are there statistics on the net anywhere of like how many people get a job because of their degree or in that area of what they studied for? It'd be interesting to know.

I still think a fair few people go to Uni for the sake of it, to be honest, I am really but you only live once and all that. I've got plenty of years of my life to waste doing most likely a boring job might as well do something interesting while I'm young.

I do - but out of those I'm still in contact with who I graduated with, I'm the only one. Most have gone into teaching or post graduate study.

What do you do may I ask?

Does anyone know how easy/hard it is to get a job in teaching these days, like P.E? I mean they advertise on the TV for teachers so surely a career in teaching is almost a definite career as long as you do well at Uni?

Not as easy as you might think. I know someone who came out of uni with a 2:2 or 2:1 in sport science and are struggling to get the required teaching qualification.

ive got quite a few friends who are teachers. the qualification they all found easy but finding work not so difficult. Always jobs available but you have to be prepared to travel. Finding work in gloucestershire was not very easy at all and the amount of newly qualified teachers seems to be rapidly increasing. The males however found it a lot easier especially if they wanted to teach primary school or not PE. Just about every bloke teacher wants to teach PE and the reality is you only get to spend a few months a year teaching football.

AVFC_POB, your career choices seem to change daily at the moment.

What I meant was not that they were struggling to get the qualification but struggling to get on the course which gives you the qualification.

  13. I've simply never cared or worried about them. Shows how small time they are really. No matter how big they think they are because they have large attendances.

Exactly and lets be honest what the **** else is there to do in Newcastle on a saturday afternoon?

  14. I was absolutely disgusted with what they did to Weimann, it was a **** disgrace and even more so if they get away with it. Also take into account he supports the club, came through their academy, his family support the club and some of whom were probably there. He probably would have been there if he wasn't a professional footballer. Can you imagine how betrayed you'd feel if the club you supported your entire life did this to you?

  15. Not for FM2011 I won't!!

I'll give you a couple of examples from FM2010, pre patch, so effectively from this time last year.

    John Carew - CA 150 PA 160

    Nicky Shorey - CA 128 PA 148

    James Milner - CA 147 PA 165

    Ciaran Clark - CA 100 PA -8

    Nathan Baker - CA 94 PA -8

So youngsters have a much wider variance on PA? Is that why on some games they turn out really good and others not so good despite treating them in the same manner?
