  1. I don't see why people change teams halfway through a save, I don't think I've ever done it.

Yeah, I start a game because I want to do well with that club, if I want to go off and manage another club I'd just start another game.

Yeah but then you'll never get any regens in the game if you're starting a new game every 3 or 4 years.

That's the worst thing about the game, the regens. I've never gone past the 5th season in any games I've played, I just can't do it. I think it's the pictures that piss me off the most, wish they'd just put an asterisk or something next to their name.

Pretty sure you can disable the pictures for regens. My laptop occasionally does it automatically and then brings the faces back which is confusing and quite annoying.

  2. Yes I liked how we were regarded but in all honesty its left us with an over inflated wage bill and in a relegation battle as soon as the manager left. Add to that I'd rather we did stuff for our club like do well in the league and challenge for cups over being well-liked and if a foreign manager is the way to do that then so be it.

  3. I think LB is his natural position, but he's unlikely yo shift BAE. When Spurs fans vote for their player of the season on the various forums, BAE will almost certainly come 2nd to Modric in most polls. We wont buy a new LB or if we do he'll be a back up for BAE.
Are you using the back and bottom of the 'E' as the 'L' in Bale? Oh that's just nasty and cringe. Sorry

I think he's just using Benoit Assou-Ekootto's initials mate.

  4. Activision need to get these muppets off the Call of Duty series. Fingers crossed we hear something from the guys that elft Infinity Ward and formed Respawn over with EA this year. Hopefully they'll have another shooter ready to blow this and Activision out of the water.

I agree, who wants Treyarch and their well balanced games when we can have more of this:

    6095dae4.gif

This game is a poor mans MW2. I know MW2 had it's problem, although I never had many of them, but it was better than this.

Why have you posted that stupid video aswell, its not genuine gameplay, it's obviously something a MW2 hater like you has put together.

This game is an absolute mess in places, mainly the connection, but Treyarch do nothing. I'm still getting the 'connection interupted' error message appear at the end of games despite there being nothing wrong, and the whole host migration thing is a joke. Far too many games end up finishing prematurely because it, never had this trouble with MW2. Yet Treyarch, who supposedly support their games better than IW just leave it, and decide to **** about with the playlists, which there was nothing wrong with.

I don't care what you say, IW make the better games here, tighten things up and get rid of the boosters etc, maybe tone down some of the killstreaks a little, and make some changes to the weapons as some of them were too powerful/too accurate, and you're done.

    COD4/MW2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WAW/BLOPS

Isn't that what treyarch have pretty much done in Black ops?

  5. Load of bollocks in my opinion if only because it says we are long-term admirers of the player yet in August we changed manager who seems to have changed the entire scouting system which I would say is pretty short-term. Good player and better than anyone on permanent contracts at Villa but would much rather walker.

  6. Weren't they incredibly close to financial meltdown? This could have really saved their shit little club. If they qualify for main Europa places they will have a lot of money (for them) to secure them

Not really sure about that, I remember Everton saying that there is no real money to be made until late until late stages and it costs you money though not sure how true that is.

Portsmouth as well said something along those lines.

  7. Anyone else disappointed with this effort by SI? Match engine seems extremely poor with the gap in class between good and average being too big meaning the upset is almost impossible. Tactics seem irrelevant with certain tactics again being clearly better than others and if your players don't fit these tactics then tough. Too many basic errors by players such as defenders not being goal side from a deep set piece yet one guy playing everyone onside. Players also find space far too easily and have too much time on the ball. Researchers seem keen to overrate their players (don't include andy clarke in this) epsecially arsenal and spurs.

Still think this is by far the best management game around and still a very good game but my interest is ebbing away and don't think this one is as good as previous games. Shame as added bit like agents and conversations are both things I like. Hopefully the next will be more of an update with efforts concentrated on bringing areas of the game up to scratch and not on incorporating new features (can't see what else to include anyway).

  8. he might not be the same player. look at micheal owen.

Completely different situation. Owen injured about halfway through his career while Delph has pretty much all of his left. Owen also persistently injured again and again which hopefully won't happen to Delph. From what I've heard this shouldn't happen due to the club making sure he isn't rushed back or trying to overdo his return on his own.

  9. Think they should have the choice. Not a huge fan of smoking in public but I don't think it should be forced upon people to not smoke. If you really can't bear it go to a different pub. It would help many pubs as well as they all seem to be shutting down these days.

  10. Blue Moon is nice, though. It doesn't merge everything into 100+ page topics like most football sites.

Villa fans are alright on the whole. It is understandable that some of them hate us because we took their players. Although I must say, the price we paid for them is well in excess of their market value, so I don't feel too bad. Lerner could have easily strengthened the squad with some foreign purchases. Was really surprised when you didn't buy someone like Asamoah Gyan or Gervinho.

You overpaid for Barry definitely but I'd definitely maintain that in the current market Milner is a £25m centre midfielder. Just Mancini plays him out wide where he is an average player.

  11. OT but a comment on Tim Vickery's blog just got me - tim vickery i assume works in SA for the BBC? the BBC then send out another reporter to brazil to interview someone whilst paying for vickery to go along and translate? anyone else think thats a complete waste of **** money? why not just send vickery to interview him?

Vickery lives in Brazil. He is the South American guy on the World Football Phone In.

Thats what i thought, so why do the BBC send over another journo to do an interview whilst vickery translates, why cant vickery just do the interview?

The way I read it was that some other company were doing the interview and Vickery was asked to translate. Vickery then used this in his blog.

  12. Friedel-6 did what was expected couldn't of done anything about the goals

Defence-2 absolute crap schoolboy defending would be generous to describe it and am thinking about offering my services as a defender to Houllier in the morning

Albrighton-6 poor but gets the benefit of the doubt for obvious reasons

Downing-6.5 seen worse performances but has been slacking in the last few weeks

Clark-2 never got involved in the game isn't a centre mid

Hogg-6 reasonable performance at least he tried but he seems to be a poor mans denilson which is saying something

Ireland-5.5 drifts in and out again some nice passes and flicks but hat isn't enough for a good performance

Agbonlahor-5 lacked service and when he did get it poor technique and first touch. Worst from him I've seen in a while. Lacked work rate which is worrying

Delfouneso-7.5 MOTM only decent performance of the match only time we looked half dangerous was when he got the ball and ran at their defence

    Pires-see Ireland

Carew-4 unsurprisingly poor performance from a lazy prick. Typified his and Delfouneso's play when Delf beat a couple of theirs and laid it off to Carew which stood their for 5 seconds and smashed into the nearest defender.

Houllier-5 poor selection but can't see what else he could of done except for starting Delfouneson and Cuellar. Shouldn't of brought on the 2 has beens carew and Pires.

Carew, Collins and Warnock can piss off. Useless pricks.

Saying all if that all 3 goals were avoidable with some basic defending.

  13. Does anyone think that Cuellar not playing is to do with how he trains? Seem to remember Sidwell (it was definitely a Villa player) doing the 'team-mates' thing at the end and he said Cuellar was the worst trainer. All he tried to do was take it round players and never took it seriously. Only thing I can think of as a reason.

    WORST TRAINER

It's a close call between John Carew and Gabby (Agbonlahor) but we're going to go with John Carew. He just doesn't move and stays in his little spot in training sessions.

    So no.

Oops was sure I heard someone say Cuellar for us at some point.

  14. Does anyone think that Cuellar not playing is to do with how he trains? Possbily but the clowns that are currently starting aren't really doing any better to honest on the pitch..let's hope they do there job properly.

I agree and think Cuellar is our best centre back. Was just trying to think of any possible reason for his continued absence from the starting XI and this was all I could come up with.
