  1. I’d imagine that most top class professional players would still value individual development, competitive pride and personal achievement over excessive financial gain.

Faithful's smooth transition from an ITK who got busted (IIRC he got Bednarek'd. IYKYK) to a discount Villareport will never not be odd. TBF, I suppose the only difference between Twitter ITK and Twitter aggregator is putting the source in brackets at the end.

For the obligatory on topic discussion, I find it curious that we've been linked to both Diaby and Johnson. I know there'll be quite a big exodus of attackers but I wonder if it's one or the other. If it's both, I wonder how they'll fit in the same team (I know we're trying to build a squad, but you don't sign a bunch of £40m+ players at our level with the intention of not playing them in the sheer majority of games)

I was thinking the same thing.

Maybe Diaby on the right wing/midfield with Johnson in a support striker role? 🤔

  3. Fantastic player IMO.

Apparently he’s attracting interest from several CL clubs so fingers crossed we can get this over the line ASAP.

Interesting to note that Bailey had his best season at Leverkusen whilst playing alongside Diaby.

  4. With Torres and Tielemans coming in, we’ve done some excellent business so far this window.

This gives me even more confidence in Emery, Monchi and the project and I absolutely trust them to sign the right players for the right price.

  5. Ibanez would be a decent signing IMO.

Given that Hause is expected to depart. Chambers and Dendoncker are available and with both Mings and Carlos pushing 31it would make some sense in bringing him in now. Especially if we play with 3 CB’s in future, although even if we didn’t he can also play RB and DM.

Might be a cheaper/better option than Tyler Adams?

  6. Not really surprised nobody has come in for Felix.

Pretty sure I read that he only wants to play for a club currently in the Champions League and I’d imagine he’d want/expect ridiculous wages also.

  7. Emery loves Lo Celso.

He’s already signed him twice before and I can definitely see Emery wanting to sign him again. Spurs want his wages off the books and Lo Celso is believed to be keen. This transfer makes perfect sense at there right price.

  8.  I think Sancho would a phenomenal signing.

There have been several credible links to elite caliber players in this window already, so it wouldn’t necessarily be completely beyond the realms of fantasy, although it remains somewhat unlikely.

  9. I’m actually quite excited about the prospect of signing Tielemans on a free, the guy is class IMO.

Sure, he hasn’t been in great form over the past 18 months, however I think that has more to do with the overall situation at Leicester rather than him personally. I also think he’s been (somewhat unfairly) made a scapegoat by certain sections of the Leicester fan base simply because he refused to sign a new deal. And in truth, the whole club has been in a period of rapid decline.

Should he sign, I have every faith that Emery will be able to get him playing at his absolute best.

    Let’s play a game!

Budget/value/wages aren’t an issue. They’re immaterial for the purpose of this exercise.

You’ve got 4 to pick. Who are you choosing…

    P. Torres
    Lee Kang In
    F. Torres
    M. Asensio
    P. Goncalves
    H. Barnes
    M. Ugarte
    Guendouzi
    N. Williams
    D. Ceballos
    Lo Celso
    A. Buena
    M. Merino
    Y. Pino

    (I’m sure I’ve forgotten more)…

    P.Torres

    Ugarte

    Guendouzi

    Ceballos

  11. I honestly couldn’t give a monkeys about this guy, he’s made his choice to stay at Barca’ so we’ll simply move on.

The most significant appointment a football club can make is hiring the right bloke in the dugout and we’ve appointed one of the very best IMO.

I still think McGinn starts in our best team at present.

Agreed. He was playing some really nice football before his injury and we’ve certainly missed him in recent games. IMO a fully fit and on form McGinn starts ahead of Buendia every time.
