I'm not religious but I think as a country we are missing the moral guidance and community spirit religion brings. Shame there isn't a non-religious alternative at the same scale. We could do with it.

About the only good thing about the UK at the current time is that religion is dying on its repulsive, bigoted arse. Comuunity spirit indeed.

It's scary Julie feeling so out of control over your future and knowing people like Alessio have the power. There seems to be no guilt to it all. I can see his point of view about opportunity and self preservation but I don't think I could live with the guilt.

Can we not change the title of this thread now? It annoys me every time I read 'Best yet to come'.

I just cant shake the feeling that shoulder injury of his will recurr after five games of the season, leaving us with an expensive cripple on the books whilst having to make do with Andy Marshall in goal for rest of the season.

Anyone who knows it will be Hughes is saying nothing or deflecting the issue so as not to pay any compensation and do things by the book. A new name is circulated every few days to keep time ticking and Hughes goes about his planning.

Are you kidding me, Everton are a much bigger club than Fulham and I'd say it's on par with us. Only difference is we have Randy.

That is my opinion. I don't think given Everton's financial constraits at this time that hughes would quit Fulham for Everton.

I don't think the Everton job is much bigger than the Fulham job. I would be suprised if Hughes quit Fulham for that.

+1 in the Pro Hughes camp if a WOW appointment isn't on offer. We might not be able to compete with the financial big boys but I don't think they'd look forward to playing us once he had some time at the helm, i.e. a season. I want some fight and passion or strength and honour as they say in Gladiator, (in addition to decent football) and Mark Hughes gives me the impression that his players would fight for him and get as close to honour as is possible in this day and age.

But he knows if he gets it right, he can take Villa further than Fulham and not work with a chairman who is as mad as a box of frogs.

I hope you're right and that he does join us, if not someone even better who we didn't think we could attract.

But Hughes is already there and he might like to see how far he can take Fulham. I'd be happy to have him here though.

He reminds me of Collymore and his time at the Villa in the sense that we will be the only team to lose a load of money on him and he was at a crossroads mentally.

When did Fulham sign eidur gudjohnsen on loan? I must have missed that. He's in line to play so I read. Don't know if he's any good these days though.
