  1. Milan said Thiago Silva wernt available for transfer when Citeh were reportedly after him, so why go to PSG instead :?:

    50 million euro

Spurs fans fear Milan now will turn to Vertonghen as replacement.

Though it's being rumoured it's another brazilian they want, Dede.

  2. I think I remember hearing that the Brazil team that played in this game is the team that they are sending to the olympics.

You are correct, every Brazil international this summer has been their Olympic team (U23 players + Hulk, Thiago Silva and Jefferson who's a goal keeper).

They play their friendlies as official international games though.

edit - hm i see luiz is there as well now, I think he'd count as overage player as wel, not sure if he'll go to the Olympic and who'd they drop. Maybe Jefferson will be dropped after the good performance from Rafael (Santos) recently

  3. Marin's talented, but it's not given he'll be a starter for Chelsea.

He's struggled for a couple of years now, and most germans yhink Bremen got a good deal with Chelsea.

With Mata and Hazard there, Marin will most likely be a rotation player.

    Hazard - Torres - Hulk

    Mata

    would be sick though,

if the rest of their midfield can carry them :)

  4. Angan is a far better finisher now after working with OGS than he used to be, he is kind of a less talented Gabby. Fast, strong and gets chances but after that everything can happen.

7 goals in 10 games, this is probably his level though, can't see him taking a step up to one of the better european leagues.

Other african strikers like Anthony Ujah, Miram Biram Diouf, Chinedu Obasi and Mamadou Diallo were all clearly of much higher quality than Angan when they were in the norwegian league.

  5. Think if we get OGS, we will get alot of promising Norwegian wonderkids! happy days.

Don't think there are too many of those........

Wonderkids, depending on your definition, are not likely to be found in norwegian football.

There are a handful of decent players every generation though, and Solskjaer's insight should put Villa in pole position

    - although as will Solbakken at Wolves.

At the moment there's a bit of a new generation coming through for Norway,

and most will be very cheap. A matter of spotting whether they are the real deal or not.

Valon Berisha (his brother Veton as well)

    Even Hovland

Magnus Wolff Eikrem (Several years in the Man Utd academy)

    Harmeet Singh

    Markus Henriksen

    Vegar Eggen Hedenstad

    Thomas Drage

Tarik Elyounoussi (already flopped at young age in dutch football though)

    Havard Nielsen

Already in the bundesliga you'll find former Arsenal youth Havard Nordtveit (Borussia Monchengladbach) who'll be the back bone for the national team the coming ten years at least - and he has talked about moving back to England, being followed by Liverpool among others.

Also Man Utd's academy player of the year is a short skillful norwegian named Mads Moller Daehli, who has the coaches in norway salivating.

Not more talent in Norway than other countries,

    in fact very likely less,

but there are some and it's a bit untapped at the moment.

  6. He might think of bringing a few of his own players with him: Davy Claude Angan and Magnus Wolff Eikrem.

    Angan probably not good enough,

think there's a better chance he'll be interested in Anthony Ujah who was excellent in the norwegian league before he moved to the bundesliga and couldn't settle. Solskjaer's been trying to sign him for Molde, but found it financially difficult.

From Molde, Magnus Wolff Eikrem I'm sure he'd want to bring a long though.

Also his centre back Even Hovland, and perhaps his partner Vegard Forren.

There's a new generation of players breaking through in Norway at the moment, and Solskjaer would be in a good position to judge these guys.

  7. anyone know who his number 2 is in Norway? Should get Martin Laursen in, just to top it off.

He's an English Coach who worked with him at United according to Wiki.

Mark Dempsey is his assistant, and Richard Hartis his goal keeper coach.

Both english, they met while they all coached in the United academy.

Fairly certain OGS will show them loyalty and bring them along.

  8. Six-figure sum isn't a problem for Carew,

bankrupt doesn't necessarily mean he's out of money,

he sits on appartments valued at £10m in Oslo.

The court declare him bankrupt to seize control of his finances,

after a disagrement about how much tax he still owe after the Villa transfer from Lyon.

The french claim 1m euro, while Carew and his agent say it should be 300k.

  9. How in the name of Zeus' butthole did he ever get that "White Cafu" tag in the first place? I know even the shittest players will look like world-beaters in the SPL, but I remember a season or so before Spurs spunked that cash up the wall on him that Hutton was this coveted player held in such critically high regard. Hell, even the Sunderland fans loved him (though I'd explain that away by suggesting they just didn't know any better).

The answer is obviously that he can do much better than he's currently doing with Villa, I ask myself whether his focus is on the game. There's a better player in there than is showing at the moment.

  10. Adebayor fit us very well though, he's such a massive threat for any defence (pace, strenght, size, movement)

which opens up space for Rafa and the wingers.

He could be better in front of the goal, but it's not a big issue when his partner score as well.

Think it will be difficult to find anyone better than him for a club like Tottenham (limited wages).

Known fact we want Llorente, but we're likely to have to look at players on their way up in stead.

Lennon is perhaps the player I feel we can upgrade on, but on the other hand his extreme pace has been important for us.

  11. Spurs 1 - 5 Ci£y

Can people stop creaming their Y fronts over Spurs please

The Manchester games at the start of the season was without our entire backbone. We were yet to complete the signings of the summer (Parker and Adebayor),

the Modric saga was going on - he played only one the the two games was forced to play one and sat out the other,

King and Sandro were out as well.

Leaving a rookie (Livermore) and a softy (Kranjcar) as our midfield in one the games, and two attacking unbalanced players (Kranjcar and Modric) in the other.

City and United are yet to face the Spurs side that is getting praise at the moment. We were easy pickings for them at the time, as we weren't ready.

Current full strenght Spurs side is excellent and close to perfect,

remains to be seen how we'll do if Adebayor or King is out though.

  12. Take him, but don't build the team around him before the tournament.

Do not plan for him to walk back into the line up.

Use him as a bonus, a super sub to decide games towards the end.

Rooney should be sent on holiday to build up energy while the rest are preparing.

To make him sit in camp and watch the wall would be insanely stupid.

Bring him back after the group stage and just release him on the opponents when he's needed.
