  1. Hi General,

It's been mentioned on a few other threads how we don't really have an anthem as such, in the way West Ham have "forever blowing bubbles", Man City have "Blue Moon", and even that lot down the road have one in "Keep Right On". The most prominent song we have (imo) is "My Old Man" which is littered with swear words and references to past players, so in that respect in can't really be sung forever!

One of my favourite Vills songs is:

The bells are ringing for the claret and blue,

The fans are singing for the claret and blue,

    Everybody is knowing,

To the Villa we are going,

    Cause the Villa are showing,

We're the best in the land.

    BEST IN THE LAND!!

To quote another poster from another thread, it is "timeliess".

I was wondering whether it would be possible to get someone half-decent to record this and have it played when the players enter the pitch (like Man City with Blue Moon, Everton with Z cars etc) because then I'm sure it would help it catch on as I only ever hear this sung before games in pubs or at the concorse at half time.

    Cheers General

  2. I dont even think Moyes is that good!! So much media praise that everyone seems to be falling for. Its bollocks. Hes not won ought. Supposed to be doing it on a shoe string!! What??? Roy Hodgeson is doing it on a shoe string, Sean O'driscoll is doing it on a shoe string! Not Moyes. Theyre not achieving anything. Going backwards if anything

moyes is class. and as "shoe string" i think that he most definitely is! he has very little money to work with (yes he's spent money but his NET expenditure is very little - over the last 3 seasons they have a net expenditure of only £14m whereas over the same time period we have a net expenditure of £66m! (transferleague.co.uk)) so bearing this in mind i think it's fair to say moyes is pretty dam good and that everton aren't going backwards

  3. we've played well this half and are a bit unlucky to be behind.

no drama, no 'we are shit', no terrible performances.

we'll probably lose another 3 points to spurs today, but they are home to the bottom side, we're away to potential champions with a magnificent home record, so let's no overreact should that happen.

    absolutely spot on!!!

  4. I'm going, but it shouldn't be at Wembley as it's a semi final, however I am looking forward to seeing Villa play in a semi final of the FA Cup, surely that's what you hope for at the start of the season? Still having a chance of appearing in the FA Cup final at this time of year? It's certainly what I hope for anyway.

yeh same here. wembely is for finals, but i'm still looking forward to the trip down

  5. We were destined to meet them at some point surely! I would rather play them in the semi than the final TBH. If we lose this then it's only one day of expense and not as disappointing as losing in the final itself. if we win then we have nobody at all left to fear and we can all look forward to a final in which we have a much better chance of winning.

As for the game against Chelsea, I think we will win. They have to go away to United the week before and they have Spurs away the week after. Also, midweek between the Utd game and playing us, they could possibly have the 2nd leg of the Chapions league quarter final to play, should they get past Inter!

All in all, they will have a much tougher schedule around the time of the semi and hopefully it will have taken it's toll on them by the time they play us.

    nail on head big time.

the timing of the SF is key with respect to their fixture list like you say.

i'm much more optimistic about beating them in the semi than i am the final.

  6. I'm happy with the draw. Getting them in the Final would of been shit.

Normally I'd I've just wanted to get to the final, but we've just played. in one

So if they are going to beat us let it be now rather than in the final, and if we beat them for the 2nd time this season then I will be well up for the cup.

    Agree with this 100%

yeh i third this big time. plus, if we are gunna win it would more than likely of had to beat them anyway

  7. I wonder if Fat Sam is glad still glad he rested all his players for the FA cup game to keep them fresh for the Semi final :D Some how I don't think he will be able to do the same for the Man City game.

Agree massively. Although Wigan away won't be easy, especially after how we know they can play if they decide to turn up, I would much prefer to be our situation for the 1st leg than theirs

  8. any ides what this is about:

"It was a particularly sweet moment for winger Young, who had endured chants from the travelling Hull fans questioning his future involvement with the national side" (BBC Sport)

Sit upper holte so can't make out most of the away chants apart from the usual stuff

  9. The scary thing is we dont even look like scoring. We really need to sort out our striker problem in january this will cost us big time

completely disagree mate. i think this is the best we've played since chelsea. green has made 2 standard saves plus the good one from stan. and we're not getting trashed in the middle of the park like usual
