Our academy isnt very good though.Gabby, Herd and Clark are average prem players, Gary Cahill has done well but everybody else is crap that has comne through.

I'd say our academy is one of the best in the league. Maybe not producing world beaters but in terms of filling the squad with more than capable players and saving us money on transfers I cannot think of any other academy doing as good.

Look, i hate the bloke with a passion, but you cant deny he is still a very very good centre half, maybe not world class, but certainly good enough to be starting for England.

Or the previous game against napoli where he was exceptional.

The definition of world class is so vague it's barely even worth discussing.

But he's easily good enough for England (he's our best CB imo). And he certainly hasn't been crap for the past 2 seasons which Tim's post suggests

I don't think he has been crap by any stretch of the imagination. I would say that he is a shadow of the player I saw a few years back. Maybe thats more to do with my ever growing disdain for him.

The 'he can't be arsed' argument is not valid any more. I was really impressed with him this season. Not only the fancy flicks and creating chances but how more often that not he would track back and put a foot in when needed.

Just got back from a job interview working at a family owned suit shop. Was going swimmingly until I was told that the wage for a 20 year old would be 4.98 p/h! Now I know that is the minimum wage for my age but I've worked at Aston Villa, the NEC and Iforce since college and was making £6+ at each. Just puts abit of a downer on a otherwise great job.

I know its a recession and all but I think I would have laughed in their face and just walked out like a boss. An unemployed penniless boss but a boss none the less.
