Welcome Lord King of Lothbury. Hopefully we'll have someone fighting our corner in the board room. Coincidence his appointment is a few days after deadline day? Nah.
We're fit for a king.
We're fit for a king.
We're Aston Villa.
We're fit for a king.let me rephrase that for you:-)
We're fit for the bin
We're fit for the bin
We're Aston Villa.

I personally cant see us coming back up in the first season, the club is going to sell off some of our players in the summer and thats for sure.
They will have to invest in a squad that can win in this division..I have the impression they think the championship is a walkover.
The going rate for proven championship strikers is all too apparent with the likes of jordan rhodes and afobe just to name two, will the board be ready to shell out? im not too sure.
A rebuild of the team in the championship could be a blessing in disguise..but with randolph lerner still heading this im more inclined to say its going to be more misery until he sells.

People arguing about what level of trouble the club is in.
The club is clearly in freefall, even the least clued in non supporter can see that.
The owner, board and the management have not said a word which is a slap in the face to the season ticket holders in my opinion.
The empty seats yesterday spoke volumes...but will it be enough to stir the board into action and to outlay their plans for the club going forward?
Times are going to be interesting as we go forward...for good or for bad.

As I previously quoted. I have no idea why Hollis is here. Yes he may be a great Midlands business man, but he has no idea how to run a football club. I'm actually begining to question his business acumen. I mean would you go into a big corporate business knowing there are very limited funds to improve it.
Hollis is a an ex liquidation specialist for kpmg,he is here to "restructure" the business.
His business acumen is to tighten the "ship"...he will get rid of players we dont need/want (already started with senderos and friends)
He will basically shred our spending power, sell off the players he can make money on(watch players like ayew, amavi etc be sold in summer) and downgrade the whole business model to suit life in the lower divisions.

It's just time to accept that sadly we are a lower league club.
This unfortunately is the truth of it and we are going to be staying in the lower leagues while that clown lerner and his rag tag bunch are in charge.

It is fairly obvious to me that a few months ago randy lerner decided that he was going to change the business model for the club.
His plan was to downgrade all the operations including player signings and loans for the incoming inevitable relegation.
He brings in a liquidation expert from kpmg as chairman whose sole job is to downsize operations on a financial basis and to rebuild to a better model more suited to the championship.
It will not be a suprise to me when the squad is weakend by sales and loans and not incoming players as so many people are praying for in this window.
The Villa we all love and know is changed now and only time will tell if its for the better.

gestede!!

bloody westwood..he makes so many mistakes every game..
-
leicester finding their feet now and villa losing their shape all over the place...
-
The whole team lacks passion, flair and commitment, its like watching 11 zombies every week make the same mistakes over and over.
The team and club needs to be rebuilt from the top down as the cancer we are sufering from starts at randy lerner and trickles down
A lot of fans are saying we will come straight back up when we go down,Not with this team we wont, its so different from the time we went down in 87,we have no backbone.
I have loved the villa since i was 10 and thats over 40 years ago,my heart sinks every time i watch them its as if i know we are going to be crap, and more often than not its true.
We desperately need a new owner who can start again with pride, vision and a commitment to the greatest club in the midlands, here is hoping for a light at the end of this long tunnel!

Play Gestede in goal you say...
He still wouldnt move..they would mistake him for an extra goal post,

When we went down last time i had hope of coming back up...this time...we are definitely the next leeds and portsmouth combined...FU randy lerner
-
I wonder if its allowed for us just to hold up the "were relegated" flag so we dont have to play anymore matches in the premier league this season...dont think im able to watch anymore...(just seen the gil goal) as this was typed..doesnt change much
-
I reckon Garde has been told from the powers above to forget about the premiership and just ride it out till relegated.

It comes down to this. If randy doesn't open his wallet in January to bring in the cavalry, the conspiracy that they need us to be relegated for financial reasons, will be become a very true reality.
I think we are dead and buried and no amount of signings in january are going to save us now.Pessimistic?..yes after the drivel ive watched the last few months

the words headless and chickens comes to mind..benny hill defending
-
im gonna miss you match of the day!
-
I remember the last time we went down,i was gutted but i felt we could come straight back up with a good core of a team.
This time around its going to be a different story.I feel that the only way we are going to grow as a club is for randy lerner to leave and cut his losses.
I would hope that our time in the lower league would help us rebuild and refocus under new owners and or management.
