I know I'm late to the party but Congratulations!
-
I drink way too much of both.
I start the day with tea and have 2 mugs back to back before 7am, I'll of had 4-6(total) by 10am. I then switch to my nespresso machine and have a double shot coffee at 10.30, I'll probably have 3-4 of these throughout the day, then always finish on a tea at 8.30pm.
If I'm working out and about I'll easily have 2-4 large lattes throughout the day!
I need to cut back.

Merry Christmas
Bit miffed with this one. It was published in the Sunday Mercury this week to promote the girl singing in Centenary square on New Years Eve. They never asked my permission to use the image or credited me, just stole it off facebook! I guess thats what happens when you release your images into the public domain!

Sorry about the broken links earlier? I can see them, I think it's because I have an account where they are hosted.
Here are a few of my latest escapades:

A few from my Halloween shoot! The model used to work at Villa Park :-)
I need to make a horror competition entry and can't make my mind up so I'd be interested in peoples opinion?

I dont know why I said I had the 10? It's the blue 7 I have as well? Brilliant bag :-)

I tried to capture the glamour of a British Seafront (Leysdown, Sheppey) in October.
I think that sums up the British Seaside perfectly, great shot.
Yup good shot!
cheers!
just the luck of the drizzle...
So, the game I've set myself is to take photo's on my route to that day's work. No great diversions, I sometimes allow myself a street or two, a mile or two if there is a sign for an abbey or a canal or whatnot. Usually however, like today, it has to be visible from the road I was on, on the way to do my thing.
Today, somewhere down by Westbury, an ex church, recently an office, now for sale with planning as a house conversion.
I love this idea except I work from home and there isn't a lot between my kitchen and office :-(

Thanks Designer1!
Donnie, It's next to impossible to make money out of model portfolios and fashion.

Getting myself a Think Tank retrospective 7 tomorrow, I think. Will try it out first, see how it feels. Product page-link. Any one tried it? I have a larger Lowpro shoulder bag, which is great for travel, but too heavy to carry all day. I need a smaller one for weddings and everyday use.
I'm heading to Copenhagen tonight for a wedding. It's supposed to be great weather and around 20 degrees for most of my trip. Gonna stay a week and get to know the city a bit. When I'm back I go straight to Jotunheimen in Norway for a movie festival high up in the mountains with lots of day activities, and I will be part of the film and photography team. Then it's back to prepare for a long weekend trip to Island, followed by a week long break in Oslo. Oh and I get payed for all of this :)
If it goes on like this I think I've chosen the right profession.
I have the Thinktank 10 and its the best camera bag I've owned. I love it, deceptively spacious.

I need office for my son as well and cant believe how expensive it is. I have used open office but he seems to struggle with it, are there any other options you'd recommend?
-
Thats perfect Rev.
Thank you. Just quickly I take it this wont run Skyrim and COD though?
-
Thats great but could you give me an idea of the kind of laptop you need to run it? It's the graphics that are confusing me?
-
So is the answer he cant get one for that price that will run it well?
-
He wants a laptop though? They don't seem to have many with graphics cards?
-
Hi, I really need some urgent help as I dont have a clue what I'm doing here! I did post in the tech chat but nobody replied.
My son wants a new laptop for his birthday (putting with money he's managed to save already) and he's desperate to start playing WOW. What spec does he need to run it well? Is it realistic he can get a laptop for £400-500 that will do this? He would also like to play Skyrim but from what I've managed to understand its unlikely this price range will allow this?
My understanding is that Integrated graphics are not enough and he needs a graphics card which seems to bump the cost up excessively?
I used to be quite clued up on all this but old age has turned it all into a foreign language now!
-
I don't want to start another thread for this but I can't believe how out of touch I am on this now. I need to get my son a new laptop. It'll be for school and play but he wants to start playing World of Warcraft and Skyrim on PC now rather than on his Xbox. Is there a laptop in the £300-500 are that will handle these games well or does he need a desktop?

I have a new Kia Sorento and I love it. Much more value for money! If you dont need anything that big the Sportages are great too!

Criminology? Maybe your looking at this the wrong way? Maybe she's learnt enough to beat the system and lead a wealthy life of crime?
-
That one looks good. A bit expensive though!
A couple from my recent shoots.
Are you using a softbox? Which one if so?
They are both lit with virtually the same set up. They are all Elinchrom brand.
The top shot has an Octabox high, in front of the model at 45 degrees. Then strip boxes behind the model, either side for the rim light.
The second shot is the same except only one strip box used to the rear.
Thanks for that. Are you using speedlights?
I've been pondering what to get. I'll either go for a portable set with rechargeable batteries with a few light modifiers, or I'll go for the cheaper option of just getting a few softboxes that are compatible with speedlights.
No they were shot with studio flashes. I've just bought myself a SB700 speedlight to have a play with some location shoots though. I want to have a go at overpowering the sun and getting some moody sky images? I'd love to get a set of these badboys though!

Chaps - slightly O/T here but camera bags
Now I have a "good 'un" but it's quite big (ooooo errrrrrr misssssus) that I can basically keep a lot of my lenses etc in. Trouble is for days out I don't want to hump that thing around all of the time.
What does everyone use for day to day use etc?
I had a bit of an addiction for camera bags that drove my wife mad as I couldn't find the perfect one. However I have settled with this one for the last 6 months and it's been brilliant!
