    Im married so no

But women have done that to me years ago before i was with my current wife when i was single. Guess thats a sackable offence too?

Are you saying you would if you weren't married? :D

If you deemed it inappropriate then yeah. The sex of the perpetrator makes no difference to the situation, not sure how that is relevant.

As far as i am aware she hasnt made a formal complaint. If she has then different story.

I think if he just apologised and given a warning then thats fair punishment.  Sacking for me is abit extreme

Do you usually kiss your colleagues on the lips whilst without consent? You’d be out the door if you did it at work. It’s no different for this person. Not to mention he did it whilst the world was watching.

His outburst today shows that was basically just an effort at some PR. He's been suspended & will likely be sacked anyway. And rightly so.

When presenting the Spanish ladies with their WC winners medals he kissed one of them on the lips.

Obviously not ok but he has apologised. I’m not sure on how upset the player was about it.

He hasn't apologised at all. He's been saying it's fine today and it doesn't matter.

Malinga had a double jointed shoulder joint!

    What's this guy's excuse?

He's delivering flat balls from 5ft high, how's a batter meant to do anything with them?

He went for 42 off 20 for no wickets a couple games back...

Zaman khan has a joke action.

    Absolutely chucking it.

    How's that allowed?

It's the same as Malinga. Straight arm but side-arm action. I'm all for it, more weird actions the better!

I know this is probably a bit over dramatic but it’s the most unwelcome I’ve ever felt walking in to Villa Park.

    I'd echo this.

The price hikes on absolutely everything really leave a sour taste. My usual routine would be to have a pint before the game, maybe one at half time and then definitely a few in the Holte Suite. I don't think I can justify £30+ on five pints, especially when I can find a pub where it's about £2 less per pint. All the chat about making the ground a better place for before & after just doesn't work with the prices that they are. The club is getting my season ticket money and nothing else any more, they're just taking the piss.

Daughter didn't get the grades she needed for UOM.  Missed a B is photography by 2 marks.

She's now got to go to Manchester Met Instead.

She's angry and very upset about results and missing her first place but now she's got to deal with the scramble for some kind of accommodation in Manchester Met whilst still upset which is proving a nightmare

She got an A, B and C. It should still be a good day but it's turned to hell. There must be a better way.

Have you tried clearing for UoM?

Not really worth compressing the Ashes into July for was it?

Did the relentlessness of the Ashes make it better though? I mean the players might not agree but every test apart from one was a classic. I do entirely agree that shunting the Ashes out the way for the Hundred is farcical anyway.

Partly that, yes. I'm also thinking of the nature of the spectators - pretty full (larger) venues, with kids and more women in the mix, free to air telly coverage, and sure, marketing that actually tries to reach out to catch new fans of the game. I kind of think that T20 has become a bit of a "grab as much money (much needed, by the counties) as you can", test cricket and International cricket in the UK is very expensive, and County games take place when most people can't actually attend because they're working.

I think I'd have Tests June, July, August and first half of September. T20 July and August, with the semis & final back in September, And the County Championship Late April, May, June, a game or two in July and August and a couple in September. Sack off the hundred (for men). Not sure what I'd do with 50 over cricket, or when to play it.

Free-to-air cricket is the key to it all to be honest. Fair play to the people behind the Hundred managing this, but there's no reason why the Blast couldn't achieve this.

50 over cricket is essentially second XI cricket these days, unfortunately it is the least relevant of the formats now but so be it.

There's too much cricket - we've just had the Ashes crushed into a 6 week slot because of the Hundred. The only good thing about the hundred really has been the women's version attracting loads of fans. They should maybe keep that, but T20 and the Hundred is too much of the summer spent playing short form cricket.

Having live cricket on normal telly is good, too, rather than siloed away on satellite.

There must be a way to take the best parts of the Hundred and add them into a T20 comp, then have Tests, County Championship and (maybe) ODI/50 over county cricket, like it used to be. The schedule is all over the place at the moment - different every year, you never know when or what's on.

Agree about the women's game, however they're just re-jigging teams that are already there (the ones that play in the Charlotte Edwards cup) so it's actually pointless.

In terms of the "best parts of the Hundred", I'm actually not sure what the best parts are? A bit of extra gaudy branding and giving away free tickets to boost the crowds?

I think the cricket has to be sectioned into mini-seasons, the formats are so different that it impacts the players. They used to mix it all a few years back and it got a bit messy. The Blast should definitely be played at the height of summer, and probably concurrently with the 50 over stuff. T20 on the weekends (Friday to Sunday), 50 over during the week.

  13. Looks like this is the last iteration of the Hundred. What a terrible shame. Now it’s just a waiting game to see how they manage to butcher the Blast.

That WOULD be true if all road users merged like a zipper at the end point but your perfect world doesn't exist. People merge at all points before the zip point leaving a long empty lane that rocket polishers zoom down to jump in front of all those who were previously in front of them AND the people who let them in thereby bringing the merged lane to a standstill.

If you want your utopian mixing point drive at the same pace as the merged lane till you get to the zip point then move over there, not stick your foot down to get a march on all those motorists who have shown some courtesy to other road users.

Lol, nah. I'll just take advantage of their perceived courtesy, drive down the empty lane and merge at the correct point.

  15. A great win and the turnaround spearheaded by two brummies! So happy for Woakes and of course Broad.

Feels like a long time since we lost those first two tests, the players must be absolutely sick that we've not won the entire series.

Now to wait another six months until the next test... no idea who the bowlers will be. No Broad, Woakes won't travel, I think Anderson is likely finished too, no Moeen. Think the batting line up is a lot more solid, still not convinced by Crawley or Duckett but their aggressiveness suits us.

Why not, retire at the top. Can understand if he is fed up with the winter touring and doesn't want to be dropped and just play county cricket.

I said I thought it's strange that he's retired before Jimmy, not that it's strange that he retired. I totally understand the reasoning. I think this will be Jimmy's last test anyway, six months until the next tour where he'll be closer to 42 than 41.
