  1. It scares me how some people are trying to put a positive spin on Martinez being appointed. It shows how desperate we have become.

Who said he's being appointed? I'm kinda getting the vibe he turned us down out of loyalty to Wigan. Probably has a liking for pies or something.... hey maybe he'll buy Dunne as he can recommend all the good pie shops ;-)

I dont think he'll come either, whether he turns us down or we him is another matter, although I wouldnt be surprised if he see's it as too much of a step up for himself at the moment.

  2. Martinez won't be the man to take us forward if he is the new manager. His defence at Wigan was absolutely appauling, losing 9-1 at Spurs, 8-1 against Chelsea with a 6-0 at home to the same team as well? That is horrendous.

    Similar record to us then.

  3. Most likely bullplop but Morley is reporting on Twitter that we are close to appointing Hughes.

I have a feeling though it will happen today regardless the appointment of a new manager

It could well be, but thats not saying he knows anything. He said we would appoint him by last friday, then changed to ancelotti, then moyes, then deleted all his tweets and went back to hughes.

He's keeping a close eye on the odds and 'reports' things hours after theyve already been in the paper SSN etc. Hes a faker, and not a good one.

  4. It does appear that Mclaren may have been/still is being considered which makes you wonder what the calibre of the others in the frame is. I mean if you are say looking at Moyes or Ancelotti then you don't consider the likes of Mclaren. If however you are considering the like of Martinez, Poyet or even Macallister :puke: then I guess you'd also have Mclaren in the mix.

I think from MM's quote, its McClaren who was a non starter and hughes was the one considered. Thats what I heard from elsewhere too a few weeks back.

  5. Simon Morley is reporting via Twitter that Hughes will be announced by beginning of next week as manager.

According to him the reports of CA at Bodymoor Heath earlier were false

He just makes things up. MM has already said it won't be Hughes. I know who I believe.

Forgive my ignorance. Who is Simon Morley?

Someone who pretends to be an ITK, he said it was hughes ages ago, then when all the CA rumours came out he deleted all his tweets to cover his lies, now hes saying hughes again, basically he's a clown who knows **** all.

  6. I believe there has been contact, Nothing more. MM said he has been ruled out.

    Then why contact him?

Did they ask him where the best place was, to get a tan?

Taylor was one of those appraoched for their advice when MoN walked out, and guess what...he mentions Maclaren, and suddenly we are contacting him.

Hopefully, after the Villa PR team read the anti Maclaren sentiment on here and other forums, they pulled the plug quickly 8)

I didnt say we contacted him.

  7. What do you expect seriously its been 6 days since houlliers test confirmed he couldnt carry on, you may say its been a month but thats rubbish they intended to keep gh on if health was not an issue he'd still be our manager. Not even a week and weve got raging "fans" going mental because randy hasnt appointed the first man to hand in his cv. :bang:

    Your opinion.

But Freidel has cited the managrial uncertainty at villa as to why he chose to jump ship. - and what should have been a routine appointment - has now once more turned into a circus.

They should have gone for Mark Hughes pretty swiftly.

True we have to wait and see - and the board could yet pleasantly surprise us - but I wouldn't count on it.

Freidel left because we offered him a 1 yr extension and Spurs offere 2 yr.

Dont let his excuses hide that fact.

  8. How is it Fulham managed to get a pretty damn good manager straight away despite the fact Hughes ditched the club leaving them less prepared, where as our club has surely had this planned since Mid-April (incase GH wasn't fit enough which was very likely) and we're fearing over managers like McLaren?

The board are ridiculously pressuring themselves when there's no need to and if Hughes is hired then that would be pathetic because Jol is the better manager. If it's worse then Hughes then they've fallen deeper.

But...I think they'll able to get us a solid manager. Let's hope so anyway because this would be the final straw.

JOL was prtty much there first choice last year before Hughes, so it was easy to get him.

  9. like last season, they'll probably wait untill the transfer window has closed and unveil someone who was available all along. wouldnt suprise me at all.

Which part of that ridiculus statement was 'like last season'?

when did MON leave? when did houllier take over? during which time did the transfer window not expire? coincidence?

Oh, sorry, so was GH available all that time was he?
