Seeing babies actually beheaded by those who invented lies about beheaded babies to justify their actions is something I wasn't ready for tbh.

No no no no no no no no

I've my views on what's going on, but whatever you feel about things, I hope this isn't true

    Have you had bad experiences?

I'm just a punter, but I go to an awful lot of heavy gigs, and that shit is loud. I tried the cheapo foam earplugs, and they block a lot of sound and protect your hearing, but the music is muddied, you lose the whole performance. They cost about 50p per gig, but they ruined it and I often removed them after the opener. Then I stepped up to more midrange ones, long lasting, 40 quid a set, I tried 2-3 brands, and every single one of them were better for sound than the foam ones, but still a bit muddy, and uncomfortable as ****, often fell out, just a really shit experience.

These ones cost £120 to have them moulded to my ear canal, don't fall out when I headbang, subdue but don't muddy the sound, and are incredibly comfortable. I'll put them through their paces at Download and Bloodstock, but they claim they're fit for 3-5 years, if that's true, even at the lower end they'll be worth it.

I need to properly test them, but at this point my advice would be that if the 50p range don't work for you, skip the 40 quid midrange and jump right to customs, they fit better, they work better, and they last longer.

I don't have the same level of experience, so it's great to hear your situation.

When we're DJing, my mate, deaf as a post, all day every day. Me? Sound as a pound still but I'm VERY conscious or the volume.

Genuine Q - If you're at a gig, a band you love, is it the same with earplugs in?

Ahead of festival season this year, I've treated myself to some ACS custom mould earplugs, they just got here a couple of days ago, and I'm blown away by the sound clarity compared to generic Loop earplugs, etc. I expected them to be better, but they're incredible, and after a few minutes I hardly notice they're in.

I think the earplugs game is the Emperors new clothes right now. DJed for 20 years, completely understand the importance of ear protection, but I also feel like there's a lot of charlatans out there in the 'inner ear' scene atm. Protect your ears, yes, protect your wallet too.

Tried the magic mushrooms again yesterday. First time didn't work so I wasn't confident.

Muched them all and three hours later I'm thinking "**** hell I must be impervious to this shite".

Thirty minutes after that the giggles began.

And carried on for about three hours.

Must say the wife was impressed with my demeanour and wanted to know when I was getting some more :crylaugh:

Welcome to the dark side my man :D

Genuinely, enjoy but stay safe, tripping is wonderful, just make sure you're tripping up and not down.

    Take care Roberto.

Oh dear. My only trip there was a terribly depressing affair, the one where El Ghazi decided to fall over and not get back up again out of sheer embarrassment of playing in the game. We were absolutely terrible and it's a long way to go for that. So not good memories for me.

The same game where the Villa on Tour lads got assaulted in the stand by our own😞

We've come a hell of a long way.

Mentioned on here before, and absolutely no endorsement of someone being assaulted, but personal experience with that 'crew' is very poor. Max himself seems to be a nice bloke but I've also seen two/three of his crew being absolute arseholes. Two of them in particular, need to conduct themselves better.

Also, Saints away is a good one, get down the Quay, top floor of the nice hotel, forget the name, cracking bar, nobbing around with loads of Hampshire cricketers and high class escorts.

Such a shame. I was hoping Rooney would get the Man U job

TBF, I think he's testing the water with a club of similar size and ambition before he finally goes there.

No no no, 5 months for a lifetime of bigotry that's deeply engrained? Should never be allowed in that position ever again.

  8. I know a woman that works for the Gambling Commission - From what I've been told very single bookie has their own flags for betting patterns like this, and every single bookie pushes the absolute limit with it. I think one of the big boys got smacked with a naughty fine for taking very dubious bets, apparently there's still money in it even if the bet is rigged, because so many times it doesn't actually come in. I'm not against gambling, but the influence in sport needs to be looked at.

Finally took on the Villa Job after years spent building capital at Eastleigh, Blackburn and Celtic.

They'd just finished 15th but the squad was easily capable of more.

Two days in the job, and 5 of the first team (by some distance the best players in the team)  kicked up every fuss possible to leave. Could not be persuaded.

Bailey says he has to leave for Champions League, and cannot countenance any other possibility. Then demands to move to Crystal Palace in the Championship. FFS.

    Ollie 'wanted a fresh challenge'.

Vitinha, who in 2026 was our captain and highest value player, went to Man U who had finished 16th.

Our Right Back Rosier also wanted Champions League.

Fans are furious that I've sold 190M of talent within a week of getting appointed, including all the star players, but I literally had no choice.

I love them in real life, but man did I want to give Bailey and Ollie a digital slapping.

Luckily I took over in early June.... so. Loads of money, lower prem side, gotta rebuild the heart of my squad. Any suggestions for targets anyone, cos I haven't even appointed any scouts yet, and I need to get cracking?

Also just took the Villa job, never normally do it, but I'm in 2049 now so I don't feel so guilty about selling star players because they're all newgens.

They've had a couple of seasons back in the Championship, then a lot of very poor seasons in the Prem. Mid table at best, mostly bottom half bar one 6th place finish.

Team is decent, currently 10th about half way through the season which I'm happy with, limited resources mind. Not much behind the first team bar a couple of 4* potential lads out on loan.

Seem to be falling into a pattern of WLWLWLWLWL, which I've never had before, not sure what I need to change to fix it to be honest.

  10. If he hadn't played for us before, would you take him? European football experience, ex-international, POTS for his last Prem club, not gonna break the bank, probably won't even expect to be a regular starter. No brainer for me.

  11. Never had a cleaner, but had a gardener and what a difference that makes for the money. Wouldn't go without now.

As for cleaning, I have my own place with a lodger, we're both of similar age, both bachelors, it's a lifestyle not too different to Men Behaving Badly. I realised that setting a 15 minute timer every morning before work to do any cleaning was the most efficient way (for me) to stay on top of things. Parkinson's Law at action. And it scratches an OCD itch too.

An alcoholic throughout the filming of Supersize me, a minor detail...

I don't know if he ever got clean.

I didn't realise that until earlier this week. And also, a self admitted sex pest.

  13. Had the boys round yesterday, cold beers, Cup Final on the box, digging through the records and putting some classic tunes on, playing Goldeneye64 and 1080 Snowboarding.

I'm 40 years old and I still enjoy the same life I did when I was 15. I don't think I'll ever grow out of it and I'm glad.

  14. So, I was searching for something earlier, Altavista was down, used the big G.

It took longer than expected, and then returned an AI result as the 'headline' return.

I'm guessing this is new - I've never really struggled with Google before, anyone have any idea what the purpose of the new change is?

  15. Ready Salted - You're eating the most bland vegetable in the world, cooked in the most bland way, covered in the most boring seasoning.

Even if it was Ready Salted & Garlic, as an example, it'd be so much better.

But the taste of dirt, oil, and high blood pressure, nah lads, come on. Life is too short.

Massive discounts like this are usually the beginning of the end because people won’t see the full price as value, and will just wait for discounts or not visit at all.

It's the race to the bottom (ooer)... Very few come back from that.
