stride even commented about re-signing luke as part of our summer transfers when he was trying to make out he was doing something...

personally i rate vass as one of the best at pulling defenders away and creating space for other players... we certainly noticed and missed his contribution when we had cole lazily strolling around the pitch...

its a shame that vass isnt the greatest finisher as if he was a better finisher, i feel he would rival the best strikers in the country....

although he does need a nasty streak to his game too...

we have about as much chance of signing bellamy as we do of signing pele....

troest, cooke etc were all potential players so the fact that they are now gone means they arent available in the future...

and as we are so relient on youth, i think we should count them... but obviously, just put a mark next to them simply to show they were youth players...

hes 32 now and hasnt performed for the past year or two in arguably a league better suited to his style of play and with definately much better players around him than we have....

and for the past year, despite playing poorly with only glimpses of his talent, hes still expected a starting place and then thrown his dollies out the pram when he didnt get one...

tbh, this is a fruitless discussion.. hes not coming to villa park and i for one am very pleased about that...

isnt he leaving a year early from his contract end date and fallen out with his coach simply because hes not playing?

he also refused to come out of the dressing room early in the season because he wasnt playing...

its also debatable whether keane or baros are better finishers.. they are better players theres no doubt about that, but the finishing is debatable...
