  1. I am 100% sure we will sell more shirts in this age group, partly down to the fact that it is Nike rather than Hummel.

Could you please explain me how this would work? Are you still talking about Villa shirts?

Villa shirts and other products, eg sweatshirts etc.

  2. I've read this forum for a while now but never posted and it just seems that if people swallowed their pride and used common sense then there would be a whole lot less arguing over absolutely nothing!

Firstly welcome to the site and secondly this is the most sensible thing I have read in a while!

  3.

I'll just let you have the last word mate, its obvious thats what you crave

Not really, carry on, I'll let you extoll the virtues of the global brand name that is Hummel.

  4. Eh?????

Ok i'll dumb it down for you so you can understand.

So a brand name doesn't carry any weight does it?

well if you read my post properly

Oooooooo it has a more fashionable, trendy logo on the front it must be better.

i didnt say that a brand name doesnt carry any weight i said just because it was nike then you instantly think its better than hummel, when in reality its really not

But thats the whole point isn't it?

You think the Hummel quality is ok, I don't. That aside, I don't think most kids aged 6-17 will really care about quality, but more about the brand logo. I am 100% sure we will sell more shirts in this age group, partly down to the fact that it is Nike rather than Hummel.

  5. In my opinion the Hummel shirts are no different to the Nike shirts, oh and another thing you all only dislike hummel because their Hummel, they are not known so instantly you dismiss them as shit, pathetic really.

So a brand name doesn't carry any weight does it? What about kids/teenagers? getting them to buy a Nike shirt will be far easier than getting them to buy a product like Hummel.

I think people are missing the bigger picture here, quality is just one aspect (and FWIW I think generally the quality of Nike shirts is better), but the whole marketing side of it too.

Nike is a more internationally recongnise brand, and will be far easier to sell to key market areas like kids/teenagers.

  6. Surely he is posting an opinion that is different? And that is perfectly allowed.

    From the guidelines.

    Agree to Disagree

Obviously discussions can lead to disagreements. However, it gets boring if the argument spans over several pages and repeats over the same points.

  7. Forum guidelines

Poodle, as you can see from the above link that arguing for arguments sake is against the forum guidelines. I can see nothing in your posts that points to anything other than causing an argument. please read the guidelines before you post such rubbish in future.

  8. And Poodle, who is pretending to know anything?? People have voiced opinions...

So people can form an opinion based on nothing, in your opinion. Surely opinions are formed based on some level of tangible knowledge/research. Hence my initial question, which seems to have raised the ire of someof the more provocative on here.

And opinions can also be based on personal experiences of the product. If I beleived Hummel to be crap when Villa first had a deal with them, I would not have bought anything Hummel.

As it stands most of the stuff I have bought has not lasted much longer than a year. Sponsors logo peeling off being a common complaint for the Hummel kit, which was not a major problem with the previous manufacturers.

  9. Well I call bullshit on that I am afraid. This years kit was of awesome quality and I challenge anybody who says otherwise.

There is a difference between bullshit and an opinion.

I am afraid if you are looking to start an argument you won't get one here. I stated an opinion and you for whatever reason disagree, so lets keep it at that shall we?

  10. I don't understand your point.

    Nor I yours.

I am very happy we have Nike instead of Hummel. Nike is more internationally recognised than Hummel and in my personal opinion, and of a lot of people I know, there were a lot of complaints about the quality of the Hummel kit.

  11. As a runner, I can assure you that Nike is far from the best quality in terms of runnings shoes and clothes, well behind Ascics, Addidas, Reebok amongst others...so I think the quality thing is a myth based on people being force marketed to. In addition this years kit was the best quality kit I have ever owned, by a long long way.

Wasn't Nick responding to a comment about the commercial department, surely the commercial department is interest 'mainly' in the monetary part of the club? Hance my initial question.

But most people won't buy the kit for sports use, but to either wear to matches and as a casual top. So the durability as far as that is concerned is not really an issue.

As for the quality thing, a lot of people have had similar problems, in fact Hearts used to use Hummel and they made a lot of complaints about the quality aswell, so its not just a myth.

  12. Research?

I don't think Nick is talking about monetry (sp?) value, more the reputation of Nike compared to Hummel i.e. a shit load better.

Fulham fans must be just as happy as us then.

And Barca, Arsenal, Man Utd etc.

    (not to mention walsall)

  13. Nick,

I am interested in seeing the research that you have based this opinion on. What is the value of the Nike deal? What is the value of the Hummel deal?

Can't speak for nick, but Nike products are usually very good quality, whereas Hummel are pretty poor, and wear after a few months.

Thats why they don't sponsor many clubs, while Nike sponsor a fair few 'big' clubs.

  14. Are alliance any good?

Treat them like SHA fans. You will learn to hate them, particularly when you get ganked on a regualr basis.

    That bad eh?

TBH being horde is good fun, there are some mean mofos around.

I got two of my mates to sign up aswell, except we got killed several times as we are only level 10.

  15. Ali, you need to do quests to get all four totems. The first one is for the "Earth totem." It's from a quest chain that starts in the Valley of Trials in Durotar. It's quite easy, just to get you into the swing of things. Once you have it you'll be able to use earth totems like Earthbind, which slows all enemies down around you. The next totem is fire, which starts at L10 I think. When you have this you'll start getting fire totems to use which attack people.

At L20 you get the water totem. You'll find this quest a COMPLETE pain in the arse, as it has lots of stages which gets you running backwards and forwards all over the map. Get used to it!

Lastly you get the air totem at L30. As you level up you'll be able to learn new totems of each type.

    Cheers for the tip.

Can I say, what a fantastic game - one drawback, no social life and an annyed girlffriend.

Got a lvl 10 druid and a lvl 9 shaman, don't think I should meet up with you lot yet, as I'd probably hold you back.

    Are alliance any good?
