  1. Thought as much mate, looking good for a top half finish at the very least at the moment. A lot of our fans had a bit of a grudge on him leaving but we’ve actually benefitted massively with Gio Bronckhorst and his team. In the 10 games before his departure we had conceded the first goal in 7 out of 10 games whereas in Gios first 6 games we’ve won 5 and drawn 1and that was away to Lyon in a game we were leading 1-0 until late on. 5 league wins in a row including away wins at hearts, Livingston and hibs. Notoriously hard places for us in the past. It’s looking good for both sides!
  2. How are you lads finding Gerrard so far? 3 wins out of 5 and only narrow 1-0 losses to Liverpool and city… seems like a good start for him from the outside looking in
  3. Never once have we played hoofball mate. The reason his old firm record is so good is that he ensures the midfield battle is won consistently so yes I can 100% see you him improving the midfield
  4. Yeah Celtics spend was still more so no excuses from them really
  5. So I think the first 2 seasons he can be forgiven as he was still building his squad. I do accept that he should maybe have won a cup during they first 2 seasons but Celtic were still stronger. Celtic we’re only a shambles last season, and even at that, they were only a shambles because we made them look like a shambles. We lost 2 disappointing cup ties last season when Celtic were already out so that is disappointing but he said himself he wanted to do better in the cups
  6. Rangers have just had a horrible habit of selling youth players before they even get a chance to progress to the first team. It’s one of the things I hate about us so I don’t think this can be put on to Gerrard. James Tavernier is his biggest success story really, James has been with us for 7 years down the leagues etc and Gerrard came in, made him his captain and since then he’s taken his game to a whole new level. Gerrard is a great man-manager. morelos as well, I think any manager would struggle to keep a leash on him but Gerrard has really done a good job calming him down. He certainly will have his “favourites” and you will notice this in time, there will be people who seem undroppable no matter what. He will bring a freshness to you though and he won’t allow anyone to bully you or any of your players. He will have you organised and hard to beat
  7. Nathan Patterson is the only one who has broken through but to be fair gerrard has overseen that and don’t a great job managing him. Billy Gilnour was sold under gerrard but he wasn’t here for long at that point. He’s not great with youth truth be told
  8. It’s split mate, I for one am looking forward to a bit of change. He’s left us in a great position and it’s looking like van bronckhorst will be taking over. Gerrard had an absolute hard on for Connor goldson the whole time he was here, think he’s only missed like 6 games in 3 years, even when playing badly and he’s not signed a new deal here so I think it’s a stick on that gerrard will bring him to Villa. Joe aribo, glen kamara and Ryan Kent if I had to pick anyone I think he would be most inclined to try and buy although would cost you a decent wedge, but that’s no problem to you guys is it lol
  9. Good question, not really because we have beaten teams in Europe who also come to Ibrox to set up not to lose, but i think there can be no doubt that we play much better football when teams actually try to play against us instead of this low block nonsense. there has been times during his tenure where he’s looked a bit clueless when we’re sitting at 0-0 at the 70th minute against a low block. at Villa, he won’t have many teams playing the low block against you so I think this will suit his style to a T - gerrard will certainly have a go against the big boys and not set up to not lose.
  10. Yes and no, he kept neck and neck with Celtic up until Christmas his first 2 seasons and then just collapsed after the new year, still mystifies us to this day. But given the players he has had available have improved year on year until we eventually won league last season. I would give his overall league tenure a 7/10
  11. Hi guys, Rangers fan here, joined last night to give you some insight into Gerrard and his team and style of play. I gather from here that a lot of you are underwhelmed at this appointment and I suppose understandably so. However I think you will be surprised. He came to us in 2018 off the back of us being pumped 4-0 and 5-0 in successive weeks from Celtic with our caretaker in charge, we were a riot. in his first season, he had us neck and neck with Celtic at the new year and managed to record our first league win over Rodgers Celtic, the first time we had beaten Celtic in the league since we got put down the leagues. He also qualified through 4 rounds of EL qualifying within his first 2 months in charge, becoming the first team to ever do this. He went on to do this on his second season, third season , Infact he has qualified us for the groups in all 4 seasons he’s been here, beating teams like galatasaray along the way. with us, he plays an attacking 4-3-3 formation but one of his weaknesses is his in game management. Often waiting too long to make subs. Michael Beale is the brains behind his operation and he will be valuable to you. He is a serious talent. There is a danger of being caught up in the “gerrard circus” with the media but it’s good exposure for you guys. Any questions just let me know but I seriously think he will do well with all the money he will have to spend, he worked wonders with us on a serious budget
  12. Rangers fan here wanting to give some hindsight into gerrard and his team
