  1. Still curious how Liverpool could afford this. I'm sure all of those media outlets report that Liverpool don't spend anything. Don't they pick up young, hungry, unknowns for next to nothing and turn them into stars? :P

Good luck CB. I hope you get a hat trick in every game, but lose them all 4-3.

Nice of him to say bye to us like that as well. Too good and too classy for Liverpool. Make sure your home has decent burglar protection.

  2. If Richards was told by Sherwood he would play him centrally I can't see him playing at RB to start the season.

He'll play where he's told to play. What's he gonna do? Start waxing lyrical about another team and convince our best players to leave....? :P

I'm guessing (so far) we'll be playing 3-5-2. Bacuna and Amavi as attacking wingbacks. Okore, Clark and Richards at the back. Clark in the middle as more of a sweeper.

  3. Bet he's glad fibian left in the manner he did, lot of heat off cb leaving now.

There never was heat for CB. We've always known he'd be leaving. He's kept his mouth shut, played well, been a crucial part of us staying up and now he feels it's time to move on. We're disappointed but we can hardly hold it against him. We've been relegation fodder for years and he's better than that.

Can't imagine there'll be any boos on his return, and highly doubt they'll be a chorus "Christian Benteke" for him either. Just a respectful round of applause.

  4. Also Arsenal are absolutely nuts to not be hijacking this deal.

Well known Arsenal fan. Would be smart of them to put in a bid, even if they have no interest in actually signing him.

Can't help but wish him well. Played well, kept us up and earnt his move even though I can't agree it's the "big move" he really deserves. To each their own though.

I'll be praying for 3-2 losses for the duration of his Liverpool career, with him getting every goal. Liverpool ultimately fail but Benteke will earn a truly big move.

  5. This moron is going to destroy his career if he isn't careful.

Agreed. I hate Liverpool with a passion, but this just smacks of unprofessionalism on Sterlings part.

As much as I love him playing hardball with 'em, this is too far and is gonna work against him in the long run.

  6. Oh well, were having an off day. Recent performances have been really good and we've still got an FA Cup final to look forward to two weeks from now so im not that bothered.

Lets just hope results go our way this weekend then. Results always go our way when we need 'em.

But it'll be fine if they don't. We've only got little old Burnley on the last day of the season to secure safety. Nothing shocking ever happens on the last day of the season.

  7. It's pretty hilarious. Tactically awful from Sherwood. But everyone is allowed to make a mistake.

    Except Guzan ;)

It must be a Villa curse that when players make mistakes they all make them during the same game.

  8. We're not getting relegated, but kiss any chance of the FA Cup or Europe goodbye. Arsenal is going to maul us.

Its a ruse guys. We "return to form", Arsenal get complacent and we come out swinging and win the FA Cup in the biggest upset of the century.

    Trust me.

  9.

Understandably the debate on where Gerrard ranks as a footballer has begun. He should go down as a great. I'd go further... I believe he is Liverpool's greatest, ahead of King Kenny himself.

In terms of the top modern day Premier League midfielders, Gerrard is in the conversation alongside Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard and Patrick Vieira.

It's worth noting over his entire Liverpool career Gerrard played with a handful of world class stars. The other four teamed up with that number virtually every week.

Keane, Scholes, Lampard and Vieira were outstanding at different things. Gerrard, at his best, was outstanding at everything; scoring goals from inside and outside the box, passing, tackling, heading, defending and he was as accurate at crossing and as dangerous from set-pieces as David Beckham.

Man United fans may disagree but in many ways Gerrard was like Keane, Scholes and Becks rolled into one.

    Bleurgh

Absolutely true... If the conversation topic was why Gerrard doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside these guys.

  10. In my 3rd season as Villa (not had much time to play it) and fighting for the title with Man Utd. Okore has been an absolute giant all save for me. I went and forgot the terms of his contract and Man Utd stole him off me for a measly 23mil.

To get a defender of equal quality just set me back 21mil up front and a further 10mil over 4 years. Devastated he's gone.

Most of my team want away to "bigger clubs" despite us being in the knockout stages of CL, final of league cup, 5th round of FA Cup and top of the table. Managing to hang on to most of em, but Okore slipped through the net.

Just when you think things are looking up and you've cracked the tactical side, the man management side kicks it up about 30 notches :(

  11. We all know there'll be that one dickhead steward on a power trip who starts picking on people who are perfectly well behaved, though over this arbitrary limit, but he just happens to not like that he's wearing Air Maxs or a Nike hoodie.

Going to a football game will turn into the Broad Street lottery of what clubs will let you in and which ones have uppity bouncers throwing their weight around.

  12. Seriously though, the Polish Andi Weimann.

So a more hard working version of a hard working player. But paid less? ;)

Back on topic; after retirement, he shaves his head, develops a fondness for lollipops and becomes a detective - Komak!

  13. The hoofing from Brad is resulting in the ball coming back to us continually.

It's not hoofing. It's an attempt on goal.

And who can blame him after watching Foster fluff it 3 times already.
