From John Percy at the Telegraph:

"The former Liverpool executive is understood to have been sidelined from football business since Emery’s arrival, with the head coach taking full control of operations.

Emery also goes direct to owner Nassef Sawiris, who has assumed a more significant role since Steven Gerrard's dismissal last year.

It is understood Purslow was offered the opportunity to take a different role but he has stepped down. Newly appointed Chris Heck will run the business side at Villa Park."

Reads as though the performance wasnt good enough and following the Gerrard debacle, where we could have been relegated, NSWE made the decision to change direction i.e. Purslow's influence was greatly reduced. I have no doubt if things had worked out and they hadnt needed to intervene, Purslow would still be there. It also reads as an ego thing as he was clearly valued enough in another capacity to want him to stay on?

In fairness to Gregg Evans, he has for while been stating that Emery is now employee #1, with the most power at the club. The imagery you are shown at seasons end was very much Nas, Wes and Unai.

Sounds like Purslow was put on a Performance Improvement Plan.

Translation … Aston Villa sent a paper of interest to the Galatasaray side for Zaniolo.

    • It will start official negotiations in a short time.

I sent a paper of interest to a girl at school. She said no 🙃

Something to do with his wages. Geezer at Shababs heard he was on £10m per week.

Digne's wages are so vast, he makes the Saudi PIF look cheap.

Whatever your thoughts on this whole enterprise, I think we can agree that Grealish trying to adapt to Saudi culture would be remarkable. We'd need a camera crew on him at all times.

'Can't believe it. When they said it was a dry country, I thought it was because of the desert and that, not that I can't have a drink'.

Laporte is good but is he the right age to be spending big on (he's 29)? We already have Mings (30) and Diego Carlos (30). Pau Torres is 26 and Konsa is 25 btw.

I think he is. He is a real threat from set pieces too.

Vidic not getting a red in the final because of "the occasion".

Phil Dowd should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell.

Guaranteed if it had been a Villa player, he would have been sent off.
