as I have alluded to in the past ALL politicians have agendas.

    VLD.

The patronising tone gets me so deeply in the stomach, I can't even tell you. This is a classic excuse used by people who don't really know much about anything to stop themselves thinking too much. If this is as deeply as your thinking goes, what's the point of debating with people? You can dismiss literally anything with statements like that, and I bet you do.

Of course they do, but I honestly believe in the majority of occasions they are doing the best they possibly can and the constable savages amongst them are the smallest minority, Every industry has some bad apples and I’m sure the police are no different, knowing somebody that was nearly stitched up by the West Midlands serious crime squad I kind of know this to be true. However  you have to believe the majority want  a better world for us all to live in and this is the reason why they joined up

My friend's a policeman and he told me it's more fifty fifty. He went into more detail and said there are two types of policeman, those who want to help people and those who want to control people. I always find it odd when people are so willing to make big statements on things they barely have an inkling of. That's not really aimed at you Follyfoot.

I'm just reporting what he said by the way.

Firstly I referred to Jack based on his performances the season that was, which was pretty clear. And during that season it was as a LW he impressed the most.

Secondly, he didn't play a whole lot of CM this season. He started out there, didn't do too well. Was moved up the pitch into a drifting LW role and did better. Looking at last season he played 22 of 36 matches at the left wing, and 5 of them as a CAM/SS whatever it's called.

Calling him a CM based on that is just plain stupid. Thus moving him would be crazy.

Yet it's where he wants to play. It's also difficult to be so sure about the conclusions you're making—I mean there are other factors too, not least the lack of quality we had up front. If we had a good quality front three then Jack as a midfielder would be a completely different prospect to Jack as a midfielder this season with the team we had.

Would be the most threatening side going forward in the better part of a decade.

    New RB please obvs.

If sarrs asking price os 30m we should meet it. He is totally worth that

The if is definitely the key here. Why would they put that low price tag on him this early in the window when they bought him for near enough that much and he's looked good?

Unless he has a release clause, which I guess is possible.

Ok if you see us playing with him as a striker instead of Wesley, fair play. Not sure he looks like that kind of player to me, but I'll trust your opinion on that. I've seen relatively little of him.

I don't have a clue tbh! It was just going by comments on here that he plays more as a striker. By all accounts, we were meant to sign another striker last summer, so I think there's always been an idea that we need some healthy competition up front.

I just can't see it. We wouldn't sign him unless he'd be a starter, and playing Grealish left and Rashica (whom I guess you can call an inside forward) centrally, we'd be overrun all day in central midfield. No way McGinn and Luiz could handle it. In fact I think we'd struggle with a world class DM in that mix.

Isn't the point that he'd play up front as a striker rather than as a 10? So we'd still have the three in midfield.

Given a straight choice he’d be more likely to pick Wolves over us, but we have a greater than zero chance of signing him.

    It’s 50/50.

    I think I hear a mathematician crying. It's satire right? 😁

Am i the only one not concerned about our midfield?

I think Conor has been great since Luiz started playing well.

I actually think our midfield is really good as it is. Samatta is a disaster though.

We're one injury away from it not being good again. It'd be great if we could strengthen all over really, I think. Strengthening in the wings would help though as Jack could play in midfield.

Stinks of Villa’s transfer style. No word until it’s pretty much done. I hope it’s us in pole position for him.

It reminds me of those links like Coutinho, Alli, and many more when we end up losing out to a (currently) better team.

It'd be lovely if things were different this time. One bigger signing would make all the difference to how appealing we'd be to others.

You might be right, but this sounds like what people said about Brett Holman.

Those statistics on the previous page suggest he's nothing like Brett Holman. Brett Holman couldn't get statistics like that if he was playing in a pub league.

My only point is it's confusing how Brett Holman was considered good enough to be a footballer.

hey mate, where do you guys think Benrahma and Watkins will end up? (if they leave ofc)

also, do you think Henry will move?

    How does he know? 😀

My point is only that none of us nor most journalists know anything about what's happening.

    Nope. Fingers crossed they are.

Do you need to cross your fingers?

Every window people complain about how long things take. Every single one!

You'd have thought we'd all have learnt by now that million pound deals where the players get to choose where they go and other teams get to choose how much they're worth take a lot of time to align.

I reckon the reason we haven’t got anyone in yet is because we’re not bothering with the low hanging fruit. Hopefully we’re going after players that are hard to get and that clubs aren’t just willing to hand over without a fight.

If we are, I fear we'll be waiting to the end of the window. Unless we throw insane wages at people, it's unlikely high-level players are going to have us as their first choice, considering where we finished and that we're not an established top-level team again yet. They'll eliminate their other options first and we'll get them if we're lucky and others drop out. It seems this has happened to us a fair amount, but I might be reading between the lines a bit and drawing the wrong conclusions. Anyway, I just don't think it's as simple as pay the money, sign the player.

If we want players in early, we're going to have to accept that they'll be Championship players or players from less-glamorous leagues. And there'll be a decent amount of haggling to be done too unless we want to stump up the asking price. It's going to take time—it's going to be really disruptive that the window is open to the end of October. This could really be a bumpy ride!

Wolves had a bid accepted at £18m in january while he was on loan at Villa.

I forgot about that! Respect to Tammy for staying—though I expect he felt he wanted a shot at getting in the Chelsea team.

Tammy has proven he can do it in the PL though. That's what you pay for.

Watkins may well set the PL on fire - but it's a big risk at £25m imo.

And yet we'd have definitely been keen to sign Tammy for £25m last year when he wasn't yet proven in the Prem. In fact, we'd have probably paid a decent amount more!

And we spent about that much on a CB in Mings, who wasn't yet proven in the Prem.

Ha, and this is why it's important to have all the information before making judgements! I feel that these touchy feely book can teach everyone a lesson.

    Sooooo, about that mouse penis...

It's not really anything more sinister than a cash-in from what is (in my experience) the most popular set of sensory books for young toddlers.

The mouse erection looks even worse on the book.

    img_5731_dvd.original.jpg

It's really strange though. All those other examples you can conceivably own (you might need a zoo/farm/airline), but a mermaid is basically a person. Of course, I haven't read the book (though it's in the pile obviously!). EDIT: and as I now know, I clearly know nothing about the wider series.

The mouse penis—I disagree it's an erection as it looks pretty floppy to me and exactly how a floppy dick would look in the sea—is bizarre. At a glance I don't get how any of that exists. It doesn't scream 'good idea' to me.
