No sponsor on the jersey?

He seemed to get two yellow cards for separate incidents in the last few minutes against palace but the ref didn’t give him a red with the second. Did anyone else notice this? It looked odd.

You really don't get a Man City standard player when you only pay +30 something million.
Maybe but there was talk Man City wanted him in the past, etc.

Worrying how slow and clumsy he looks defensively. We were told we were getting a Man City standard, Spain international, Champions League level defender who will elevate us to another level. He looks a million miles off it at the moment. He looks more like a more skilful Carlos Cuellar. Playing against top teams is supposed to be his level. I really worry about his pace. Settling in is not going to make him any faster.

At the game today though he got the best reception of any player when he was about to come on. The general mood of those around me in the Holte was also that he once again showed today what a quality player he still is and that it would be nice to see him have an injury free run as he still has plenty offer. He then unfortunately again got injured.
I feel for him as he can't seem to catch a break in terms of injuries. I certainly wouldn't write him off though.
I love seeing him play for us. Even though he’s on big wages and isn’t the player he once was, and your head says those wages would be better spent elsewhere, I just can’t help it. He’s still fun to watch and seems like a very likeable character too.

I mean I know from experience a hamstring tweak can be bloody painful but heal up quite fast
Same. I’ve had to be carried off the pitch in agony with hamstrings. But playing again in 4-6 weeks.
But Coutinho could really do without hamstring issues at this stage of his career. Good news if it’s not more serious though.

Fine, but that's a different argument.
Same argument I replied to to be honest.

Ermmm. He's the manager who sets the tactics. Seems a fair comment.
We are fine. Don’t need to change everything just to help McGinn. It’s his own responsibility to perform.

Have you heard of tweaking the tactics ?
Just to accommodate McGinn. Get real.

McGinn isn’t in the game.
Need to get him involved Unai
What do you expect Unai to do about it?

If you look at carlos its taken almost a year foe him ti be starting games like he was before injury. I wouls say same with buendia. He ia younger though so that will hopedully help
The knee and achilles are completely different injuries though so not the best comparison. There have been some really good examples of fast recoveries from ACL knee injuries in recent years, ie. within six months.

Burnley would be stupid to pay £12m for a loan; even if he stays for 2 seasons, that's £6m a year. Makes zero sense.
Under that scenario, Burnley would make a huge profit when we exercise the buy back clause. They wouldn’t suffer any loss or liability. Quite the opposite.

Well yeah. City lost an £80m midfielder for £15m. Sounds like a terrible idea to me.
But they had the option to buy him back for 25?

I would choose champions league qualification all day long. I’ve always wanted to see us play in the champions league. I think I’d get more satisfaction from it than the shorter term euphoria of a cup win. And champions league football would really drive the club forward in so many ways.

So many positives from that. I’m feeling good about my 210-1 bet for us to win the league.

Where are the PL clubs interested in Traore? Where are the clubs from the top 5 leagues?
I don’t expect any decent club to be chasing Traore. But I could say the same about Bailey. I genuinely don’t think we could give him away at the moment with the wages he’s on. Anyway, I genuinely hope Bailey can turn things around. We need him to come good for us. But I’m not confident.

But nobody at the club agree at all with that. Bailey is clearly ahead of Traore
Maybe but I don’t think the whole merits of someone’s opinion should be dismissed based on the Traore versus Bailey debate. It’s like arguing over Ant and Dec. They’ve both been poor. I’d argue Traore has done more in less appearances but that’s just my opinion. But I think some people are in denial at just how bad Bailey has been.

I just can’t take people seriously when I see stuff like this.
I think that was a fair observation by Jimmy Greaves. I think Traore offers more. Playing with Bailey is like being down to 10 men 99% of the time.

Well Thursday when he said yes, somebody said the medical was booked for Sunday then Fab reported contracts were to be signed on Friday so that was confusing. I’m wondering if he did the medical yesterday then flew to U.S. to do the photos and video meeting Emery today and all that and we’ll get the official thing later today or tomorrow given the time difference. Just all guess work. Or maybe they are waiting for international clearance.
Yeah. If it was agreed on Thursday, I’d have thought there would be more concrete talk of a medical by now or him heading to America, etc.

Any sign of this actually happening? It’s dragging out a bit now.

Are we at risk of overloading the forward positions now?
I don’t think so. I think Watkins and Diaby are the only two players in the final third who match our quality in defence and midfield.
