    Grealish plays it forward to Hanks, who flicks it on to Prince William. He plays a through ball to the on-rushing Nigel Kennedy who squares it for a tap-in to David Cameron. David Cameron controls the ball and then skies it. 
     

    Cameron then resigns after residing over a loss from what should’ve been an easy win.

    I don’t post often, but I just want you to all know that I think I’m in love with Unai Emery. 
     

    I haven’t felt this excited by my Villa for years. The 10-game run under Deano was special, but this just feels different. I dunno, maybe it feels more sustainable. 
     

    Seeing how the coaching is improving our play; it all feels like there’s method to what we’re doing. 
     

    I also think his assistant doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit - he’s an experienced, quality appointment that I think complements Unai perfectly. 
     

    I feel in love with Villa again, and that is the biggest compliment I can give.

    If we had waited and signed Buendia, Bailey and Ings today, VillaTalk would be in meltdown proclaiming this as the best deadline day in the history of all the universe.

    I'm talking about being more pro active. Anticipating your team losing the control of a game and changing/correcting it quickly before the inevitable happens. 

    No we weren’t, two of the subs happened at 2-0 down. He also changed the shape which improved our performance after the second goal went in. Unfortunately, a number of players were unprepared for the start of the season due to a lot of mitigating circumstances. 
     

    Mystic Meg has some competition with you, clearly you can see things before anyone else. Can I have the lottery numbers for Tuesday’s Euromillions please. 
     

    Dean Smith continues to improve each year. You don’t know anywhere near as much as you think you do.

    Late subs has become a meme at this point but it is a weak point in Smith. As a top manager you need to have the ability to read a game. Have the ability to sense and anticipate when you are starting losing a hold of the game and make changes before the inevitable happens. The so called reactive vs pro active 

    You seem to be forgetting last week’s game, when he made all three subs by the 72nd minute. 
     

    The thing you - and other posters who bang about with the same points *over and over again* - seem to forget, is we haven’t had the strength in depth to make quick, decisive changes to massively influence the game. That’s a long process and this isn’t Football Manager on Editor Mode.

    He's already competed for a medal and trophy with Villa the flippin plonker.  Played in an FA Cup final and a league Cup final, the latter of which was ermmmm against them

    You could also argue he's actually won a trophy and medal in the play off final though that would probably invite more taunts.

    In fairness, if they’re claiming the community shield as a trophy, then we can probably claim the playoff final as a trophy.

    The quality isn't there. Unless there's a miracle in next two weeks in transfer window, we're going down.

    And I don't think Smith knows what to do at the moment. His indecisiveness is reflecting in our performances. Too many formations, too many changes, too few reactions to what's happening on the pitch.

     

    Should I go through every point and explain why you’re wrong, or would you prefer to rewatch the game so you can figure it out yourself?
