Midtable with Brentford, you really see that as an achievment? They finished 5th before Smith arrived, he hardly ever improved them.

Midtable with Brentford is admirable not to mention coaching young players and selling them on for huge profits. Best of all when he discovers and cosches young players here here wont have to sell them. Onwards and upwards!

So you'd rather keep on swithing manager until he got us into top 6 using this squad, then let a manager come in and create his own team, potentially creating a team with an idendity and a sell on value, so that if we fail again, we dont have to start from scratch all over again for the multiple time in the past few years?

Poor lads having to train harder! No wonder the results have been poor!  Never mind quite a few of them will be retired/semi retired come May!

He wasn't at his best at the start of the season but was still our best player, just received unjust criticism based on the expectations placed on him. Particularly once he found form he was levels above anyone in the side and it's really been felt during his absence.

Cant see him leaving in the summer personally. If he does then I cant see us getting as much for him as we would have if he had played more games this season. Moreover, cant see our owners selling him for less than the 'agreed' release clause, whatever that is!

I guess that DS will be in the best position to judge how much of the game JG should get. The rest of us can only speculate.

I'd like to see Carroll start to see what he can do. I know his passing is meant to be superb, but it'll be good to see how hungry he is to win the ball, press the opposition and pick up those 2nd balls.

Thanks for allowing me to join.  I have been a Villla fanatic for 60 years. Favourite players include Charlie Aitken, Alex Cropley, Gerry Hitchens.  Seen Villa play on 54 grounds in the uk plus a few more in Europe.  I remain positive throughout the 'poor years' as we always turn it round and I fel that the new owners will see a return to the glory days!
