  1. Would like to see Martinez, Young, Konsa, Mings, Digne, Luiz, Kamara, Ramsey,(if fit) McGinn (if fit), Ings and Watkins. Coutinho, Buendia, Bailey on the bench but I'd honestly prefer it if they weren't involved at the moment. My opinion may change nearer to kick off.....🙃

  2. Would probably play Olsen, Cash, Chambers, Mings, Augustinsson, Dendoncker, Sanson, Buendia, Ramsey, Bailey and Ings as a 4-2-2-2 style formation. Maybe have the likes of Kaden Young, Rory Wilson and Lamar Bogarde on the bench for the last 25 mins or so.

Would really like a cup run this year, I feel like we could beat anyone on our day with Unai in charge. Coming up to 30 years without a trophy too, I just want something to properly celebrate.

  3. If this is Emery's man, we've gotta back him. Keen to see what he can do! I do think it spells trouble for Digne - a player I've always liked but never quite felt like the right fit for us.

  4. I think there's definitely a place for him here with mainly sub appearances and the odd start. Whether he's happy with that is another issue, but he seems to have a massive impact off the bench that isn't quite there when he starts. Still really like him as a player though, and he's far more intelligent and classy with his link-up play and passing than I realised before he signed.

  5. First half was as bad as anything under Gerrard - no intensity at all and Wolves did a proper number on us. However, really pleased that Unai was able to make the right changes at the right time to influence the game. Can’t remember the last time I had such confidence in a manager to make the required tweaks.

Mings and Konsa were decent. Digne was absolutely woeful and seemed reluctant to drive forwards for some reason. Not what I’ve come to expect from him.

Never thought I’d say this but we definitely missed McGinn today. As for Bailey, I’m not gonna pile on him. He’ll know himself he should’ve buried it, but if I’m honest we didn’t deserve to win, a draw felt fair. We definitely need a quality injection but I think major surgery will need to wait until the summer.

  6. There's really no comparison between Emery and this absolute chancer. I get people wanted to be positive about him but it was so, so clear early on that he had no idea what he was doing. If it walks like a shit manager,  and quacks like a shit manager - it's probably a shit manager. Hope the next job he gets is at Blues.

  7. If we give up as many chances as we did in the first half yesterday, Kane and Son will murder us. Remember everyone wanking themselves silly over the first half at villa park last year when we lost 4-0 - anything better than that please!

  8. Deflating, too many passengers in the side. When you defend the way we did in the first half especially, and combo it with atrocious finishing then you’re on to a hiding to nothing. Made all the worse by the patronising shit I have to now tolerate from all my Liverpool supporting glory-hunting mates.

Croatia falling into same trap Belgium did for an hour against Japan 4 years ago. Thinking they are too good for Japan technically and trying to keep it on the floor. They aren’t. Need to start putting more balls into the box.

Spot on, some really excellent technical players in the Japan side, plus their work ethic is top drawer.

  10. Have to say I did enjoy the game, my first experience watching the Villa Women live. The crowd at OT was excellent - not sure how I feel about effectively having karaoke going on during the 90 mins with the band (bit odd) but the atmosphere generally was pretty good! Lots of families, dads taking their daughters and lots of big names (Russo, Toone etc) on the backs of shirts which was cool.

As for Villa, we started quite well and were punished clinically by a very decent United side. Second half though it felt like we were steamrollered a bit. We seem very easy to play against and the United team seemed to physically overwhelm us at times, winning pretty much all the 50-50 tackles. When we lose the ball, we are very open in transition. A solid midtable finish feels like it'll be a good achievement for this side, and then try to kick on again next year. I would like to get to watch another game at Villa Park if we host one there this season!

Manchester United set to smash record attendance vs Aston Villa at Old Trafford

Manchester United Women are set to shatter their home attendance record when they return to WSL action against Aston Villa at Old Trafford this weekend.

With more than 30,000 tickets sold already, Saturday’s league clash against the Villains eclipses the record 20,241 who attended United's first WSL match played at Old Trafford in March, when United beat Everton 3-1.

The game is scheduled for 12:00 GMT on Saturday 3 December and tickets are priced the same as matches at Leigh Sports Village - £6 for adults and £3 for fans aged under 16 or over 65. To buy your ticket, click here.

All Women’s Season Ticket holders will be contacted today with instructions on how to claim their ticket.

Hospitality is also available to purchase. Prices start from £20pp (dependent on package) - more information is available here

Its also live on Sky Sports and Sky Showcase

I have got tickets for this tomorrow. I've only been to OT once, when I was 13 so have no idea of the best way to get there by car or where to park! Can any well-travelled Villans give any suggestions for where might be best to leave my car?

And let's not sink to their level and use that phrase.

Wolves not our rivals. Never has been.

I look at wolves the same way as I look at a Brentford or crystal palace

Yep, I agree. Went to school with hundreds of Wolves fans for years and never heard a word. Just the freaks who’ve made themselves known in the last few years that I’ve got an issue with.

  13. Didn't think he covered himself in glory for Rashford's equaliser, but I was much more concerned at Chambers being absolutely roasted for pace by Eriksen in the lead up to that goal. Whole defensive unit was all over the shop last night, not helped by a keeper glued to his line, but as others have said Unai will have learned plenty about who's up to it and who isn't.

  14. I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke, but he’s an absolute hologram in goal. Was awful at Roma, awful at Sheffield United and had continued to be poor here. It always feels like he’s making a token gesture to reach the ball, like he never actually believes he’s going to save it.
